La controversia entre Uber y Taxi continúa siendo un tema de discusión en Kansas City.
El pasado jueves el consejo de Kansas City se reunió para votar sobre la regulación de los conductores de Uber. Uno de los cambios que se propusieron fue la implementación de un permiso, el cual tiene un costo de $100 al año y una licencia de $78.50.
Esta situación afecta a los conductores de Uber quienes no están de acuerdo con la nueva regla y temen que Kansas City sea la única ciudad de Estados unidos que no cuente con este servicio debido a las regulaciones de la ciudad.
Por otro lado, los conductores de Uber se quejan que conductores de taxi están actuando como trabajadores de Uber, recogiendo gente en los taxis, quedándose con la propina, y a veces no llegando a los lugares que la gente manda en la aplicación.
Estos problemas han incrementado en las últimas semanas afectando no soló a los conductores sino también a las personas que deciden usar este servicio.
Esta polémica continúa y la ciudad seguirá actuando para el mejoramiento del transporte público teniendo en cuenta la cantidad de gente que ha empleado Uber pero al mismo tiempo aplicando regulaciones que esperan beneficiar los negocios de taxi y conductores de Uber.

The controversy between Uber and taxi continues to be a discussion topic in Kansas City.
Last Thursday, The Kansas City Council met to vote on regulations to Uber drivers. One of the proposed changes was the implementation of a permit that costs $100 per year and a $78.50 license.
This situation affects Uber drivers who don’t agree with the new rule and fear that Kansas City will be the only city in the United States that doesn’t have this service due to city regulations.
On the other hand, Uber drivers have complained about taxi drivers who do fares under Uber’s app., keep the tips, and sometimes don’t show up where they were requested.
These problems have increased in the past few weeks not only affecting the drivers but also people who decide to use the service.
The controversy continues and The City will continue to act to better public transportation in Kansas City considering the amount of employees Uber regularly employs and will apply regulations, which will benefit taxis and Uber drivers.
