El candidato presidencial republicano Donald Trump está dispuesto a cerrar parte del Internet para cortar la comunicación y la contratación de los esfuerzos realizados por el Estado Islámico, referidos a menudo como ISIS.
“ISIS está reclutando a través del Internet”, dijo Trump durante el debate presidencial republicano del 15 de diciembre en Las Vegas, Nevada. “ISIS está usando el Internet mejor que estamos usando el Internet … y fue nuestra idea.”
Trump también dijo que iba a tratar de conseguir que la gente “brillante” de Silicon Valley, Cal., encuentre la forma en la que ISIS está trabajando y parar el grupo terrorista.
“Usted puede hablar de la libertad de expresión, usted puede hablar de la libertad de todo lo que quiera,” dijo. “Yo no quiero que el uso de nuestro servicio de Internet sea para tomar nuestros jóvenes, jóvenes impresionables. Nosotros deberíamos estar usando nuestras personas más brillantes – nuestras mentes más brillantes – para averiguar una manera que ISIS no puede usar el Internet. Y luego, … tenemos que ser capaces de entrar en Internet y saber exactamente donde ISIS está y todo sobre ISIS.”
En cuanto a la cantidad de la Internet que debe ser cerrado, Trump dijo que iba a estar bien con el cierre de parte de este para proteger al país de futuros ataques terroristas, especialmente de ISIS.
“Sin duda estoy abierto a cerrar las áreas en donde estamos en guerra con alguien,” dijo. “Estoy seguro de que … (frase suprimida) No quiero que la gente que quiera matarnos – y matar a nuestra nación – utilice nuestro servicio de Internet.”
Trump thinks closing the Internet would stop ISIS
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is willing to close part of the Internet to cut off communication and recruiting efforts by the Islamic State, often referred to as ISIS.
“ISIS is recruiting through the Internet,” Trump said during the Dec. 15 Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas, Nev. “ISIS is using the Internet better than we are using the Internet … and it was our idea.”
Trump also said he would try to get “brilliant” people from Silicon Valley, Cal., to understand the way ISIS is working and stop the terrorist group.
“You (can) talk freedom of speech, you (can) talk freedom of anything you want,” he said. “I don’t want them using our Internet to take our young, impressionable youth. We should be using our brilliant people – our most brilliant minds – to figure a way that ISIS cannot use the Internet. And then, … we should be able to penetrate the Internet and find out exactly where ISIS is and everything about ISIS.”
As for how much of the Internet should be closed, Trump said he would be O.K. with closing part of it to protect the country from future terrorist attacks, especially from ISIS.
“I would certainly be open to closing areas where we are at war with somebody,” he said. “I sure as … (expletive deleted) don’t want to let people that want to kill us – and kill our nation – use our Internet.”
