Gánale al invierno con divertidas actividades

Indoor

Beat the wintertime blues with indoor family entertainment

By Carey Juez-Perez
The winter months are filled with many exciting events, ranging from the holidays to spending time with family members.
But snowy days and cold nights are a part of wintertime, too. That means children and their families spend more time indoors together, meaning boredom and temper tantrums might ensue.
The following are some ideas that might help families keep their spirits up and spend quality time together during the wintertime:

*Game night: Games are a fun outlet, and promote social skills and bonding. Get the family involved in some friendly competition. Play a board game or try charades.
*Make playdough: There are many recipes online for homemade playdough. Your child can help you measure the ingredients and then get messy!
*Play master chef: Have a cooking or baking competition, such as one to see who can make the best dessert. A friendly competition adds a twist to cooking – and children can practice their basic math skills by measuring and counting ingredients.
*Indoor camping: Bring the outdoors indoors. Set up blankets to make a big living room fort or set up a tent indoors. Watch a movie in the tent, make s’mores in the oven and fall asleep in your sleeping bag.
*Take a field trip – to an indoor site: There are many indoor activities in the Kansas City area. Watch a play at the Coterie Theatre. Explore Science City at Union Station. Check out the Crayola Café at Crown Center.
