Un niño de 2 años que fue arrastrado por un caimán se considera muerto.
El caimán se llevó al niño el miércoles 15 de junio en un resort de Disney en Orlando, Florida. Aunque las autoridades continúan buscando al niño, el alguacil Jerry Demings del condado Orange (Florida) fue citado por Fox News diciendo que el niño no sobrevivió.
“La meta es tratar de dar algún tipo de conclusión a la familia recuperando a su ser querido”, Fox News citó a Demings.
Múltiples agencias noticiosas han declarado que el niño estaba jugando cerca de una laguna cuando el caimán se acercó y lo arrastró hacia el agua. Los reportes de noticias han declarado que los testigos en la escena vieron al caimán llevarse al niño.
Como precaución, Disney anunció que cerraría sus playas en sus resorts.
Hasta el momento de prensa, las autoridades de Orlando estaban buscando al niño utilizando un rastreador de caimanes y 2 unidades marinas.
En una historia publicada en línea por CNN, el alguacil Demings se citó diciendo: “La triste realidad de esto es que han pasado varias horas y probablemente no vamos a recuperar vivo al niño. No vamos a marcharnos hasta que recuperemos al niño.”.
Disney está ayudando a la familia del niño. La compañía de entretenimiento también hizo pública una declaración sobre el incidente.
“Todos aquí en el resort de Walt Disney Word nos sentimos devastados por este trágico accidente”, declaró la compañía.

A 2-year-old boy dragged by an alligator is presumed dead.
The alligator grabbed the boy on Wednesday (June 15) at a Disney resort in Orlando, Fla. Although authorities continue searching for the boy, Orange County (Fla.) Sheriff Jerry Demings was quoted by Fox News as saying the child didn’t survive.
“The ultimate goal is (to) try to bring some closure to the family by recovering their loved one,” Demings was quoted by Fox News as saying.
Multiple news agencies have stated the child was playing near a lagoon when the alligator came and dragged him inside the water. News reports have stated that witnesses at the scene saw the alligator take the child.
As a precaution, Disney announced it would close its beaches at its resorts.
At press time, Orlando authorities were looking for the child by using an alligator tracker and two marine units.
In a story posted online by CNN, Sheriff Demings was quoted as saying: “The sad reality of it is, it’s been several hours and we’re not likely going to recover a live body. We’re not leaving until we recover the child.”
Disney is assisting the boy’s family. The entertainment company also has issued a statement about the incident.
“Everyone here at the Walt Disney World resort is devastated by this tragic accident,” the company stated.
