La creación de un plan de jubilación, un plan de ahorro para enviar a los hijos a la universidad o encontrar el seguro más conveniente puede parecer intimidante al principio. Y, a veces, puede ser difícil determinar dónde empezar.
Pero siempre hay una buena solución – y un lugar para empezar, según Maura López, representante financiera en Country Financial. Country Financial working with Latinos to make money-wise decisions

Setting up a retirement plan, a savings plan for sending the kids to college or finding the most convenient insurance might seem intimidating at first. And sometimes, it can be difficult to determine where to start.
But there’s always a good solution – and a place to start, according to Maura Lopez, financial representative at Country Financial. When Lopez starts working with potential clients to find solutions to their financial problems, she operates under the principle that “not every household is the same.”
“We have to make sure that we meet with them individually,” she said. “When I go in there, I have a different thought about their situation. But when I leave, I have a different view of who they are.”
For more than two years, Lopez has helped the community by working for Country Financial – an insurance company that offers several products and services, including auto and home and life insurance, and financial services such as retirement planning.
“If there … (is) an accident, we have the insurance products to protect that,” said Steve Wood, Country Financial agency manager. “We also help with retirement planning, so that when they do retire, we want to make sure that they don’t run out of assets.”
Country Financial has offices on both sides of the state line, with ongoing plans to serve the communities in Kansas City, Mo.’s Westside neighborhood and in Wyandotte County, Kan. Moreover, Lopez, who’s bilingual, works area Latino families, getting them set up with financial planning or insurance. Lopez also is working to offer all of Country Financial’s services to families wishing to use their ITIN.
“We believe very strongly in building relationships with our clients and potential clients, so that when they need help, they have someone to go to,” Wood said. “It’s the greatest feeling in the world to help someone, whether they have a crack in their windshield to a crack in their retirement program.”
