En honor al legendario Juan Gabriel, cantante mexicano, compositor y actor, recordamos el impacto que tuvo en la vida de las personas hispanas. Falleció el domingo, 28 de agosto en su casa en Santa Mónica, Calif. A los 66 años de edad.

1.Cuándo fue la primera vez que escuchaste a JG?
La primera vez que supe de JG fue con mi mamá en México. Ella siempre lo escuchaba y me familiaricé con su persona.
2.Qué capturó su atención por JG?
Como cantaba con tanta emoción. En México, en realidad no había visto a alguien que expresaba tanta emoción al cantar.
3.Por qué continuaste a seguir su trabajo?
No solo fue un cantante, pero él era un compositor. Y fue el mejor compositor de esa época. Cada cantante o banda famosa han cantado o tocado al menos una canción de él.
4.La muerte de JG cómo afectará la industria de la música?
Nunca habrá ninguna canción más como las canciones de él.

1.Cuándo fue la primera vez que escuchaste a JG?
Yo supe de JG y su música por mis padres y me convertí en una fan de él.
2.Qué capturó su atención por JG?
Cuando era niña, su personalidad animada capturaba mi atención. Al verlo bailar en la televisión siempre fue entretenido. Fue optimista y enérgico en sus presentaciones y música.
3.Por qué continuaste a seguir su trabajo?
JG hizo mucho para ayudar a su comunidad y siempre reconoció a sus fans. Siempre tenía una sonrisa y daba su corazón en cada concierto y canción.
4.La muerte de JG cómo afectará la industria de la música?
Fue único, y él trajo tanta música y canciones que muchas personas pueden relacionarse. Lo más importante, sus canciones nunca serán algo del pasado. JG creó una música tan única, y será dificil volver a crear.

Me enteré de JG cuando tenía 12 años de edad en 1976. Música en ese entonces se escuchaba todo igual y él era una persona que se destacó. Y todos quien vivía en mi calle escuchaban su música todos los días.
2.Qué capturó su atención por JG?
Lo que realmente me llamó la atención fueron sus canciones. Eran muy bonitas y su voz también!
3.Por qué continuaste a seguir su trabajo?
Admiraba como trabajaba la multitud en sus conciertos, y realmente lo humilde que era.

Creo que no hay una persona como él, con su voz, sus canciones y su energía. Tenía tantas canciones y las continuarán a escuchar por personas de todas edades.

Cuando era pequeña. Fue uno de los favoritos de mis padres, asi que crecí escuchando su música.

Además de su música, su energía!
3.Por qué continuaste a seguir su trabajo?
Fue uno de esos artistas con quién creciste y él se hizo muy popular. Tenía tantos éxitos y no muchos artistas pueden decir eso.

Quiero decir que fue una gran pérdida. Incluso ahora, todavía estaba muy activo en la industria de la música.

In honor of the legendary Juan Gabriel, Mexican singer, songwriter and actor, we remember the impact he had on the lives of the Hispanic people. He passed away on Sunday, August 28 in his home in Santa Monica, Ca. at 66 years old.
*Alex:
When was the first time you heard about JG?
I first heard about JG with my mom in Mexico. She would always listen to him and I became really familiar with his person.
What about JG captured your attention?
How he sang with such emotion. In Mexico, I hadn’t really seen someone express that much emotion while singing.
Why did you continue to follow his work?
He not only was a singer, but he was a composer. And he was the best songwriter of this era. Every famous Mexican singer or band has played at least one song from him.
How will JG’s death affect the music industry?
There will never be any more songs like his.

When was the first time you heard about JG?
I knew of JG and his music by my parents and became a fan myself.
What about JG captured your attention?
As a child, his animated personality would capture my attention. Seeing him dance on TV was always entertaining. He was upbeat and energetic in his performances and music.
Why did you continue to follow his work?
JG did a lot to help his community and always acknowledged his fans. He always had a smile and poured his heart into each concert and song.
How will JG’s death affect the music industry?
He was one-of-a-kind, and he brought so much to music and to songs that many people can relate to. Most importantly, his songs never will be something of the past. JG created such unique music, and that will be hard to recreate.

When was the first time you heard about JG?
I first heard Juan Gabriel when I was 12 years old back in 1976. Music back then all sounded the same and he was someone who stood out and everyone who lived on my street would listen to his music everyday.
What about JG captured your attention?
What truly caught my attention were his songs. They were beautiful, and his voice too!
Why did you continue to follow his work?
I admired how he worked the crowd at his concerts, and really how humble he was.
How will JG’s death affect the music industry?
I think that there isn’t a person like him, with his voice, his songs and his energy. He had so many songs and those will continue to be listened to by people of all ages.

When was the first time you heard about JG?
When I was little. He was one of my parents’ favorite, so we grew up listening to his music.
What about JG captured your attention?
Besides his music, his energy!
Why did you continue to follow his work?
He was one of those artists that you grew up with and he stuck around. He had so many hits and not many can say that.
How will JG’s death affect the music industry?
I mean it was a huge loss. Even now, he was still very active in the music industry.
