A mother has filed a lawsuit against a school in Los Angeles following the attack of her 12-year-old son by another student.
After being hit against a wall, the student suffers from “a significant and permanent physical and neurological damage, and emotional terror,” according to the lawsuit document, as reported by Telemundo.
“(The victim) was betrayed by the school that was trusted with his care and protection,” the document reads.
TMZ released a video in August about the incident. In it, the 12-year-old is hit against a wall and asphyxiated for almost 30 seconds.
At some point, a school employee sees what is happening but does nothing. The attacker eventually tries to help the victim after the victim passes out and does not wake up soon.
The mother does not want to go after the attacker because “he is just a kid,” according to the news station. However, she wants him expelled, which has not happened, because “he continues to be a threat to the safety of other students.”
The attacker did the same thing to another kid just days before and has a history of violence – and the school knows it, according to the lawsuit.
According to statistics from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, almost 1 in 3 students in the United States said they have been bullied at school, most of them during elementary school. Only about 30 percent of them tell their parents.

En algún momento, un empleado de la escuela ve lo que está sucediendo pero no hace nada. El atacante finalmente intenta ayudar a la víctima después de que la víctima se desmaya y no se despierta pronto.
La madre no quiere presentar una demanda contra el atacante porque “es sólo un niño”, según la estación de noticias. Sin embargo, quiere que sea expulsado, lo que no ha pasado, porque “continúa siendo una amenaza a la seguridad de otros estudiantes”.
El atacante le hizo lo mismo a otro niño sólo unos días antes y tiene un historial de violencia, y la escuela lo sabe, según la demanda.
Según estadísticas del Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos, casi 1 de cada 3 estudiantes en Estados Unidos dijeron que habían sido acosados en la escuela, la mayoría durante la escuela primaria. Sólo alrededor del 30 por ciento de ellos se lo cuentan a sus padres.
