CWCKC receives Capstone Award for community enhancement

Citizens of the World Kansas City (CWCKC) recently announced it has received one of the Kansas City Business Journal’s 12th annual Capstone Awards as one of 34 outstanding development projects that have enhanced the Kansas City area.
CWCKC was the only K-12 school among the award recipients, which covered multiple categories. Those categories included office, multifamily, retail, mixed-use, industrial and adaptive reuse.
The honorees will be recognized during a reception on March 23 at Populous, an architectural and design firm in Kansas City, Mo.
Opened to grades K-1 in the fall of 2016, CWCKC serves 125 students. By the fall of 2017, the Kansas City, Mo., campus will expand to include 12 classrooms and 288 students. Ultimately, the campus will serve 432 students across the primary grades.  CWCKC will expand to additional campuses as it fulfills its K-12 charter.
