Fans of “Fear the Walking Dead” won’t have to wait much longer before Season 3 is available on home video: The third season of the AMC TV drama about families uniting to survive an apocalypse will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on March 13.
Colman Domingo, who gives life to the character Strand, recently talked to Dos Mundos about his career and this season of the series.
Dos Mundos: How did you get into acting?
Colman Domingo: I got into acting very late. I was 19 years old when I took a course in college – and that … opened the … gates up to being a storyteller. Then, I moved to San Francisco (and) became a professional actor. So I have been acting now for 25 years.
DM: How did you get your role in “Fear the Walking Dead”?
CD: I submitted a self-tape. I did the self-tape in my living room. I got a small part of the script and I recorded it in my living room. From there, it was a quick turnaround … (of) maybe less than a week when I received an offer. So apparently, something I did in my living room resonated with them.
DM: What do you like most about your character?
CD: When you think you know him, he will pull a rock underneath you. I think that is how he gets his power as well. I think that is how he stays ahead of the game. I like that he is a deeply feeling human being and there are moments of passion and humanity.
DM: Why do you think people need to watch Season 3 of “Fear the Walking Dead”?
CD: People need to watch it because it is the best season yet. I am very proud of the work we have done all season. It really becomes less television and more an epic zone. It is big.

CD: Cuando creas que lo conoces, él te dará una pedrada. Creo que así es como él obtiene su poder y se mantiene adelante de todos. Me gusta que sea un ser humano profundamente sentido y que haya momentos de pasión y humanidad.
DM: ¿Por qué crees que la gente necesita ver la temporada 3 de “Fear the Walking Dead”?
CD: La gente necesita verlo porque es la mejor temporada hasta ahora. Estoy muy orgulloso del trabajo que hemos hecho en toda la temporada. Realmente se vuelve menos televisión y más una zona épica. Es grandiosa.
