La tragedia que recibió la mayor atención fue una serie de ataques terroristas esa misma noche en Paris. Más de 100 personas fueron asesinadas, según fuentes francesas.
El primer ataque ocurrió a las 9:20 p.m. frente a una de las puertas de Stade de France durante un partido de fútbol entre Alemania y Francia. De acuerdo a diferentes noticieros, una persona con bomba suicida se acercó a la puerta cuando detonó su chaleco. A las 9:30, una segunda explosión se escuchó en otra puerta cuando otra persona detonó su chaleco. La tercera explosión ocurrió en un McDonalds cerca del estadio.
Los tres terroristas murieron durante el incidente.
En conexión con las bombas, entre las 9:30 y 10, seis terroristas dispararon a varios cafés y restaurantes alrededor de Paris; matando a más de 30 personas e hiriendo a docenas más. Después, a las 9:40, tres personas armadas llegaron a un teatro donde se estaba llevando a cabo un concierto.
De acuerdo a fuentes francesas y a víctimas, los terroristas reunieron a un grupo de rehenes cerca del escenario y les hablaron sobre Iraq y Siria. Alrededor de las 11 de la noche, fuerzas de la policía llegaron al teatro y mataron a uno de los terroristas. Los otros dos estallaron sus chalecos suicidas matando a más de 80 personas.
De acuerdo a noticias francesas, los protagonistas de los ataques son parte del Estado Islámico de Iraq y Siria (ISIS). En una serie de videos, ISIS amenazaron a Estados Unidos y otros países diciendo que los ataques en Francia “fueron sólo el comienzo.”
Al cierre de esta edición, Estados Unidos está reconsiderando la idea de aceptar inmigrantes de Siria y más de 17 gobernantes rechazaron la aceptación de refugiados en estados como Texas, Arkansas y Georgia.
ISIS también se ratificó responsable por la bomba suicida el 13 de noviembre en Bagdad, Iraq, en una funeraria donde murieron 18 personas y más de 40 resultaron heridas. Esta bomba siguió unas “bombas gemelas” en Beirut, Lebanon, donde murieron más de 40 personas y cientos resultaron heridos, de acuerdo al Washington Post.
Desastres naturales también tomaron lugar el 13 de noviembre; incluyendo el terremoto reportado a 100 millas al oeste de Makurazaki, Japón. El terremoto de 7.0 grados de magnitud no dejó grandes daños , sin embargo de acuerdo al BBC, la agencia japonesa meteorológica reportó un tsunami de 1-pie al sur de la isla Nakanoshima sin dejar heridos o muertos.
Japón no fue el único que sufrió de terremotos en noviembre. De acuerdo a U.S. Geological Survey un terremoto de 4.3 grados de magnitud impactó a Baja California a las 9 de la mañana sin dejar graves daños.

Terrorist attacks, earthquakes – all on the same day

On Nov. 13, several human-made and natural disasters took place that drew the world’s attention.
The tragedy that received the most attention was a series of terrorist attacks that night in Paris. More than 100 people were killed, according to French sources.
The first attack took place at 9:20 p.m. in front of a gate at the Stade de France during the Germany-France soccer game. According to various news sources, a suicidal bomber was near the gate when he detonated his bomb-laden vest. At 9:30, there was a second explosion at another gate when another terrorist detonated his suicidal bomber vest. A third explosion was set off in front of a McDonalds near the stadium.
The three terrorists died during the incident.
In connection with the bombings, between 9:30 and 10, six terrorists opened fire at various coffee shops and restaurants around Paris, killing more than 30 people and injuring dozens. Then, at 9:40, three armed terrorists arrived at a theater where a concert was being held.
According to news sources and some victims, the terrorists gathered hostages next to the stage and talked to them about Iraq and Syria. Around 11 p.m., police forces arrived at the theater, killing one terrorist. The other two exploded their suicidal bomber vests, killing more than 80 people.
According to French sources, the orchestrators of the attacks are part of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). In a series of videos, ISIS threatened the United States and other countries, saying the attacks in France were “just the beginning.”
At press time, The United States is now reconsidering the idea of accepting Syrian immigrants and over 17 governors have already refuse to accept refugees to states including Texas, Arkansas, and Georgia.
ISIS also claimed responsibility for a Nov. 13 suicide bombing in Baghdad, Iraq, at a funeral home that killed 18 people and injuring more than 40. That bombing came a day after “twin suicide bombings” in Beirut, Lebanon, killed more than 40 people and wounded hundreds, according to the Washington Post.
Natural disasters that took place on Nov. 13 included an earthquake that was reported 100 miles west of Makurazaki, Japan. The 7.0-magnitude earthquake didn’t leave major damage. According to the BBC, the Japanese Meteorological Agency reported a 1-foot tsunami to the south of Nakanoshima Island, leaving no injuries or deaths.
Japan wasn’t the only place to experience an earthquake on Nov. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake hit Baja California around 9 a.m. that day, leaving no major damage or injuries.
