Technology has affected student learning

Technological innovations have affected many industries over the past several years, including education. The way students learn today is different than it was a few years ago.
The following are a few ways that technology has changed how students learn:
*eBooks: Textbooks used to be hardcover or softcover. Although they’re still available in those forms, many students have the option of storing their textbooks on a tablet or their laptop.
*Interactive textbooks: Many books are linked to Web sites where students can do exercises and watch videos. Some textbooks include interactive guides, so students can learn on their own time.
*Communication: When schools or professors need to announce something, they often use text messages, e-mails and Web sites.
*Chalkboards: Remember old-fashioned chalkboards? Many of them have disappeared. Today, smartboards are in many schools.
*Research: Because of technology, students’ ways of doing research include Internet resources such as online libraries and articles.
