I have a request for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump: When you’re debating Hillary Clinton, will you please give her a chance to talk?
This request comes after the second presidential debate. Held on Sunday (Oct. 9) at Washington University in St. Louis, the debate was tweeted about more than any in history and was must-see entertainment for the world. Trump’s performance was terrifying – and extremely embarrassing for America. It’s incomprehensible that there’s a U.S. presidential candidate with his characteristics.
“The Donald” was more aggressive than normal. Not only did he continuously interrupt the Democratic candidate; he also threatened her – something most politicians wouldn’t dare do during a presidential debate.
“If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your (missing e-mail) situation, because there has never been so many lies, so much deception,” Trump said.
Another trait of the second debate was that the moderators participated more than usual. Trump was responsible for that, too.
Multiple times, moderators Martha Raddatz and Anderson Cooper asked Trump to stop interrupting Clinton. About four times, viewers heard one of them say, “Please, Mr. Trump, Ms. Clinton did not interrupt when you were answering.”
Once, however, poetic justice was served, when Cooper interrupted Trump. When Trump preferred to talk about defeating ISIS, instead of answering Cooper’s question about the candidate’s vulgar comments about women, the veteran TV journalist asked Trump, “Are you going to answer my questions?”
Overall, this debate was more of the same. Once again, Donald Trump continuously attacked Hillary Clinton about her e-mails while refusing to answer the questions he was asked.
The next – and last – presidential debate is scheduled for Oct. 19 in Las Vegas, Nev. There are no reasons for anyone to believe the last debate will be any different. However, I honestly hope that Mr. Trump will stop interrupting Ms. Clinton the next time around.
El segundo debate presidencial: Deja responder a Hillary, Donald
Tengo un favor que pedirle al candidato presidencial republicano Donald Trump: Cuando es el turno de Hillary Clinton, ¿podría hacerme el favor de darle la oportunidad de hablar?
Este favor es producto del segundo debate presidencial. Celebrado el domingo (9 de octubre) en la Universidad de Washington en St. Louis, MO. Este debate fue el debate más twitteado en la historia y fue un espectáculo muy entretenido para el mundo entero. El rendimiento de Trump fue aterrador – y extremadamente embarazoso para Estados Unidos. Es incomprensible que haya un candidato presidencial en EE.UU. con sus características.
“El Donald” fue aún más agresivo de lo normal. No sólo interrumpió continuamente al candidato demócrata sino que también la amenazó – algo que la mayoría de los políticos no se atreverían hacer durante un debate presidencial.
“Si gano, voy a indicarle a mi abogado general, obtener un fiscal especial para investigar su situación (e-mail), porque nunca ha habido tanta mentira, tanto engaño”, dijo Trump.
Otro rasgo del segundo debate fue que los moderadores participaron más de lo habitual. Trump fue responsable de eso, también.
Varias veces, los moderadores Martha Raddatz y Anderson Cooper pidieron que Trump dejase de interrumpir a Clinton. Cerca de cuatro veces, los espectadores escucharon a uno de ellos decir: “Por favor, Sr. Trump, la señora Clinton no interrumpió cuando usted respondió.”
Al menos, en una oportunidad el Karma jugo en contra de Trump, cuando Cooper lo interrumpió. Trump prefirió hablar sobre derrotar a ISIS, en lugar de contestar la pregunta de Cooper sobre los comentarios vulgares del candidato acerca de las mujeres. El periodista de televisión exclamo, “¿Vas a responder a mis preguntas?”
En general, este debate fue más de lo mismo. Una vez más, Donald Trump atacado continuamente a Hillary Clinton acerca de sus correos electrónicos mientras se negaba a responder a las preguntas que se le preguntó.
El próximo – y último – debate presidencial está previsto en Las Vegas el 19 de octubre. No hay razones para creer que el último debate será diferente. Sin embargo, yo sinceramente espero que el señor Trump deje de interrumpir a la señora Clinton en la próxima ocasión.
