On Aug. 18, fans of singer Marco Antonio Solis gathered at the Sprint Center to enjoy some of the hits from Solis’ 50-year career, as was suggested by the name of his tour – “Y la Historia Continua.”
As concert-goers awaited the moment to enter the Kansas City, Mo., venue, Reyes Media Group set up booths outside, including a photo booth. The company that publishes Dos Mundos also raffled tickets, including those for an opportunity to meet Solis backstage.
Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy opened the concert to welcome the crowd with popular hits such as “Llegaste Tu” and “¿Con Quien Se Queda El Perro?” The crowd responded with cheers and applause.
As Jesse & Joy were finishing their set, Solis took the stage and shared a song with the duo, “Mi Verdad.” Solis then took over, working a crowd of more than 8,000 fans with “Tu Carcel.”
“Thank you very much for your presence and your warm welcome,” Solis commented. “This is a night of expression where everything is allowed…. The important thing is to express what we carry in our hearts.”
It was Solis’ first appearance in Kansas City at the Sprint Center. The singer used part of his appearance to share his thoughts on life.
“The most important thing in this world in this life is simply to be happy,” he said. “You have to have comfort in your heart.”
