Trump calls for deportations

By Chara
President Trump recently tweeted that immigrants who enter the United States illegally should be deported without their cases being heard in court.
“We cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country,” Trump tweeted. “When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, … (send) them back from where they came. Our system is a mockery to good immigration policy and Law and Order. Most (of the) children come without parents.”
“Our Immigration policy, laughed at all over the world, is very unfair to all of those people who have gone through the system legally and … (have been) waiting … (in) line for years!” the president stated in another tweet. “Immigration must be based on merit – we need people who will help to Make America Great Again!”
Trump has drawn criticism for those comments and other recent immigration-related tweets. As news agencies such as USA Today and the Washington Post reported, scholars, members of the legal profession and activists said Trump’s proposal would violate the Constitution’s Fifth Amendment, which grants anyone in America the right to due legal process.
People such as Kansas City area resident Hector Ramirez believe the federal government should focus on changing America’s immigration laws, rather than denying undocumented immigrants their day in court. Several Republicans and Democrats have said they’re working on getting immigration reform legislation approved, but haven’t submitted any bills for consideration.
“It is very disappointing that Congress is not working on … immigration reform (legislation),” said Ramirez, who lives in Kansas City, Mo. “I think both parties should analyze the pros and the cons of having … immigration reform (legislation) approved. I think (immigration reform would) … end a lot of problems and … (would) benefit many families that have arrived … (in) the United States looking for a better life.”
