It is built to withstand winds of more than 350 km/h and strong earthquakes. Without a doubt the best viewpoint in the city. The admission fee to the viewpoint is $35. Pike Market Center, undoubtedly a place where you can find a variety of shops, restaurants, coffee shops, as well as small artisans, merchants, and producers. You will undoubtedly have fun by visiting this place and the people who work there. With colorful flowers, live music, a variety of food and many crafts you will want to see everything more than once. You can also find the first Starbucks that was opened in 1971, in which you can only buy coffee because it does not have tables or chairs inside.
Snoqualmie Falls, this beautiful place is not located directly in the city of Seattle but in the town of Rosslyn, but only 40 minutes from downtown. This impressive place has a waterfall of 82 meters and a beautiful pool of intense blue water. All this surrounded by the forest of the Snoqualmie River. These waterfalls receive more than 1 million visitors each year and are internationally known for their appearance in the Twin Peaks series. Bienvenidos turistas, esta edición nos toca hablar de la tierra natal de la música grunge y que además es la ciudad más grande del estado de Washington, nos referimos claro a Seattle, EE.UU. La fundación de la ciudad data del 2 de diciembre de 1869, pero desde hace poco más de 4,000 años ha sido habitada por distintas tribus como la duwamish y la suquamish, el nombre de la ciudad precisamente lo recibe en honor al Jefe Seattle de estas tribus antes mencionadas.
Las bandas de grunge que impulsaron este movimiento y que nacieron aquí son Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden y Alice in chains. Es por eso que este género musical también algunos lo conocen como el sonido de Seattle.
Varias investigaciones señalan que la ciudad de Seattle es una de las más alfabetizadas de todo el país. Además de ser una de las ciudades con más habitantes titulados de bachillerato en el país, con un porcentaje superior al 51%.
Los vuelos redondos de Kansas a Seattle tienen un costo promedio de $200 y existen vuelos directos, aunque en su mayoría son vuelos con 1 escala. El costo de entrada al mirador es de $35, te recomiendo que compres algún paquete que incluya está y otras atracciones, así podrás obtener acceso más rápido y no hacer largas filas para subir. La vista de esta torre por la noche es espectacular, digna de fotografías.
Pike Market Center, sin duda un lugar en donde podrás encontrar gran variedad de tiendas, restaurantes, cafeterías, además de pequeños artesanos, comerciantes y productores. Disfrutarás sin duda de conocer este lugar y las personas que ahí trabajan; con mucho colorido en flores, música en vivo, variedad de comida y muchas manualidades querrás ver todo más de una vez. Además justo enfrente se encuentra la primera sucursal de Starbucks abierta en 1971, en la que por cierto sólo puedes comprar tu café ya que no cuenta con mesas ni sillas para degustarlo dentro de la sucursal.
Cataratas Snoqualmie, este hermoso lugar no se encuentra directamente en la ciudad de Seattle sino en el pueblo de Rosslyn, pero a tan solo 40 minutos del downtown. Este impresionante lugar cuenta con una caída de agua de 82 metros de altura a una bella piscina de agua azul intenso, todo esto rodeado de bosque y claro del río Snoqualmie. Estas cataratas reciben más de 1 millón de visitantes cada año y son conocidas internacionalmente por la aparición que tuvieron en la serie Twin Peaks. Se venden distintos paquetes para ir a visitar este hermoso sitio saliendo desde el downtown y dentro de esos paquetes además podrás visitar algunas bodegas para hacer cata de vinos, el costo de estos paquetes rondan los $100 y tienen una duración aproximadamente de 6 horas.
Lago Washington, un hermoso lugar en donde podrás tomar un paseo en bote y disfrutar del aire libre y la naturaleza en su máximo esplendor, sin duda una forma de relajarte y salir del agitado entorno de las ciudades grandes.
