Over the Easter weekend (April 19-21), there will be many Easter-related activities in the Kansas City area for families to enjoy. Get your baskets ready and check out this list of Easter activities:
April 20
Easter Egg Hunt in Riverside
The city of Riverside, Missouri, and the Riverside F/PAL are organizing this Easter egg hunt. Children are invited to bring their baskets or bags to collect eggs. In addition, the Easter Bunny will be available for pictures from 10 to 11 a.m. at EH Young Park, located at 1001 Argosy Parkway. The event is free and open to the public.
Easter Eggstravaganza
Hosted at 10 a.m. at Science City at Union Station on 30 West Pershing Road in Kansas City, Missouri, the event will be a combination of the Easter Eggstravanza with Earth Day workshops and activities. Admission is $13.25 and free for Union Station members. Admission costs include an all-day Science City admission. Tickets are available online at www.unionstation.org or at the box office.
Easter Egg Hunt, Bonner Springs
Bonner Springs (Kansas) Parks and Recreation is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt, along with other activities and games for children. The Easter egg hunt will start at 9:35 a.m. for ages 4 and under, continuing until 9:50. The free event will take place at the North Park Soccer Fields at 1200 South 134th St. in Bonner Springs.
Easter Dog Bone Hunt
The city of Bonner Springs will host its third annual Easter Dog Bone Hunt. Free and open to pups, the event will kick off at 11 a.m. for dogs under 30 pounds and at 11:30 a.m. for dogs over 30 pounds at 221 Pratt Ave.
Western Shawnee Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter egg hunt will start at 10 a.m. There also will be games, a petting zoo and opportunities for families to have their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. The free event is open to the public and will take place at 6601 Monticello Road in Shawnee, Kansas.
Harry’s Hop ‘N’ Hunt
From 10 a.m. to noon, families can celebrate Easter at the Harry’s Hop ‘N’ Hunt event. There will be several egg hunts for kids 12 and under, story times, live music and an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. The free event will take place at the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum, 500 W. U.S. Highway 24, Independence, Missouri.
April 21
Reyes Media Easter Egg Festival 2019
Reyes Media Group, which publishes Dos Mundos, will host its annual Easter Egg Festival from noon to 3 p.m. at the Wyandotte Sporting Fields, located at 1500 N. 90th St. in Kansas City, Kansas. Visitors will have the chance to meet the Reyes Media Group staff and see the Easter Bunny in action at this free event.
Spring Frolic and Egg Hunt
The Spring Frolic features a day of activities, including pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, painting stations and an egg hunt. The event will run from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Hyde Park, located at 38th and Gillham Road in Kansas City, Missouri. The event is free and open to the public.
