Welcome tourists! In this edition, we have to talk about the capital of Georgia, which also has one of the most transited airports in the world. We are talking about Atlanta. Founded in 1836 after the territory was given to the state of Georgia by the Creek tribe of Native Americans, it has a population close to 600,000 inhabitants while its metropolitan area reaches 5.5 million inhabitants.
Atlanta is considered one of the most important business hubs in the U.S. It is home to 75 percent of the companies that belong to the “Fortune 1,000”. Because of this, it has a GDP that places it in the 8th position in the country and the 15th position in the world.
Round-trip flights from Kansas to Atlanta have an average cost of $180, being one of the cheapest options we’ve presented so far, and a lot of the flights are direct flights. The best way to get around in this big city is through the MARTA services, which are trains and buses that move around the Atlanta metro area and have a cost of $2 per ride, or you can also buy a package of unlimited rides for a certain number of days. Another good option is to rent a vehicle, just keep in mind that the amount of traffic during peak hours can be quite overwhelming. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel has an average cost of $80 a night and in a 5-star hotel of $300. As for gastronomy, Atlanta does not have many typical dishes, but it does have the most famous soft drink in the world: Coca-Cola. You can find a variety of restaurants with typical American food and international food. The average cost of a full meal is $ 15.
The places you should not miss during your next visit for Atlanta are the following:
*National Center for Civil and Human Rights: here you can learn a little more about the struggle that had to be done for equality and justice for all. *World of Coca-Cola: it is a museum dedicated to the most popular soft drink in the world that was born precisely in this city. With more than 130 years of history, here you can find a wide variety of bottle collections, try more than 100 typical drinks from around the world, learn about the whole process of bottling and distribution of soft drinks, see the vault where the Coca-Cola’s original recipe, buy one of the many souvenirs and souvenirs inside its shop, and enjoy taking a picture with the famous polar bear. *Fox Theatre: it is without a doubt one of the most beautiful architectural sites in all of Atlanta. *Piedmont Park: one of the main lungs of the city. Without a doubt if you want to relax from the accelerated life of a large city, this is an ideal place, here you can find a public pool, sports courts, walking area, picnic area, bike paths or take some of the available tours.

Bienvenidos turistas, en esta edición nos toca hablar de la capital del estado de Georgia, que además cuenta con uno de los aeropuertos más transitados del mundo: nos referimos a Atlanta, EE.UU. Fundada en el año 1836 luego de ser cedido el territorio al estado de Georgia por la tribu creek de indios americanos, cuenta con una población cercana a los 600 mil habitantes mientras que su área metropolitana alcanza los 5.5 millones de habitantes.
Atlanta está considerada como uno de los centros de negocios más importantes de todo EE.UU. Es sede del 75% de las empresas que pertenecen al “Fortune 1,000”. Debido a esto es que cuenta con un PIB que lo posiciona en la 8va posición en el país y la 15va posición en el mundo.
Los vuelos de Kansas a Atlanta tienen un costo promedio de $180, siendo así unos de los más económicos que hemos presentado hasta ahora, y contando una gran cantidad de ellos con vuelos directos. La mejor manera de moverse dentro de esta gran ciudad es en los servicios de MARTA los cuales son el tren y los autobuses urbanos que se mueven por toda el área metropolitana de Atlanta y tienen un costo de $2 por pasaje o puedes comprar algún paquete de pasajes ilimitados por una cantidad de días. Otra buena opción es rentar un vehículo, sólo ten en cuenta que la cantidad de tráfico en horas pico puede ser bastante agobiante. El hospedaje en un hotel 3 estrellas tiene un costo promedio de $80 la noche y en un hotel 5 estrellas de $300. En cuanto a gastronomía, Atlanta no cuenta con muchos platillos típicos, pero si cuenta con la bebida gaseosa más famosa del mundo, la Coca-Cola. Eso si podrás encontrar una gran variedad de restaurantes con comida típica americana y con comida internacional. El costo promedio de una comida completa es de $15.

*Centro de los Derechos Civiles y Humanos: aquí podrás conocer un poco más de la lucha que se tuvo que hacer para la igualdad y justicia para todos. Aquí podrás conocer más de todo el trabajo que realizó Martin Luther King Jr, de la segregación racial que se vivía en aquellos años de injusticia, de cómo se fueron eliminando poco a poco las leyes que separaban a los estudiantes blancos y a los de color y muchas cosas más. Es sin lugar a dudas un lugar para tomar conciencia y conocer todos los derechos fundamentales que debe tener todo ser humano. El costo de entrada es de $15.
*Sitio Histórico Nacional Martin Luther King Jr: aquí también encontrarás mucho acerca de la vida e historia del héroe nacional. Aquí podrás conocer la casa en donde nació, conocer la iglesia en donde fue ministro, un jardín de rosas dedicado a la paz mundial y mucho más.
*Museo World of Coca-Cola: es un museo dedicado al refresco más popular del mundo que nació justamente en esta ciudad. Con más de 130 años de historia aquí podrás encontrar una gran variedad de colecciones de botellas, probar más de 100 bebidas típicas de todo el mundo, conocer todo el proceso de embotellamiento y distribución de los refrescos, ver la bóveda en donde se encuentra guardada la receta original de la Coca-Cola, comprar uno de los muchos recuerdos y souvenirs dentro de su tienda y bien de disfrutar de tomarte una foto con el famoso oso polar. El costo de la entrada básica es de $13.
*El Teatro Fox: es sin lugar a dudas uno de los sitios arquitectónicos más hermosos de todo Atlanta. Fue diseñado inicialmente para ser un templo para los Shriners en el año 1928, pero debido al alto costo de su construcción es que decidieron alquilar tan majestuoso sitio a William Fox, un magnate del cine que había amasado su fortuna construyendo teatros por todo el país para presentar las nuevas películas que iban enamorando a la nación. Aquí podrás disfrutar ya sea de un recorrido por todo el teatro maravillándote con el lujo de los detalles que se hicieron en cada rincón del teatro o bien podrás disfrutar de alguna de las funciones de teatro que se exponen de manera temporal, algún espectáculo de Broadway o algún concierto.
*CNN Studios Tours: aquí podrás conocer de cerca a una de las cadenas de televisión más importantes a nivel mundial. Podrás disfrutar de alguno de los recorridos que aquí se ofrecen, ser parte del público de algún programa de televisión, ser periodista por un día, conocer a muchos de sus conductores de televisión y mucho más.
*Piedmont Park: uno de los pulmones principales de la ciudad. Sin lugar a dudas si quieres relajarte de la vida acelerada de una ciudad grande, este es un sitio ideal, aquí podrás encontrar una alberca pública, canchas de distintos deportes, área para caminar, área para hacer un picnic, senderos para andar en bicicleta o bien tomar alguno de los tours disponibles.
