QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum: U.S. Citizen, 21 years of age by completion of basic law enforcement training. High School diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Strong moral character.

Desired: Prior law enforcement experience, college courses in criminal justice, and/or military experience.

APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK ROTATING SHIFTS, INCLUDING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS.

Qualified applicants must be able to pass a written aptitude test, physical fitness test, polygraph, psychological, drug, and physical exams; as well as an extensive background investigation and oral interview board.

Compensation and Benefits Hiring range is $44,188 to $54,666 annually depending on qualifications and any prior law enforcement experience. This is an hourly, non-exempt position. The City offers a highly competitive compensation package including health, dental, life, short-term disability; state defined benefit pension plan, city matching defined contribution retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, access to an on-site health center, and much more.
