The City of Kansas City, Missouri (KCMO) invites the public to attend a meeting of the Kansas City Brownfields Initiative (KCBI). The meeting is to be held on Friday, January 9, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. in the 10^th Floor Committee Meeting Room at City Hall, 414 E. 12^th St., Kansas City, Missouri. The public is invited to attend in person or virtually by contacting Caty Patterson at catherine.patterson@kcmo.org. The meeting will include discussion of a proposal to seek a Brownfields Cleanup Grant of up to $4 million from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to remediate additional vacant properties owned by the Land Bank of Kansas City, MO in the Washington Wheatley neighborhood. The public will be given the opportunity to learn about a draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA), and submit comments. Applications are due January 28, 2026. In addition, updates on various Brownfield Program projects will also be provided, and program loans and grant status will be reviewed.

The EPA grants money to investigate and clean up properties, known as “Brownfields,” which are often vacant or underused due to real or perceived contamination. Community participation in this process is highly encouraged. The public is invited to learn, comment and provide input that will help improve grant outcomes by assisting in decisions that promote the removal of blight and contamination, create healthier places to live, work and play, and create jobs and new economic opportunities. Brownfields Program information is available at the www.kcmo.gov/brownfields.

Stakeholders, including community residents, neighborhood organizations, businesses, professionals, non-profits, and government representatives, are all encouraged to attend, learn, and share. A public meeting of the Kansas City Brownfields Commission will be held 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025 in the 4th Floor CREO Training Room, City Hall, 414 E. 12th St. Kansas City, MO. The public is invited to attend in person or virtually by contacting Scott Levin at (816) 513-3012. The Commission will meet to consider an application for an RLF loan from the Kansas City Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) to remediate the Parade Park Homes site located between Truman Road and 18^th Street, Woodland Ave. to Brooklyn Ave., Kansas City, MO. The application is submitted by FC Parade Park LLC. Project updates will also be provided, and program loans and grant opportunities will be reviewed.

Brownfields are idle or underused properties whose reuse is complicated by real or perceived contamination. The Brownfields Commission is a Mayor-appointed body created by City ordinance to support the cleanup of brownfield properties for redevelopment and reuse. Kansas City, MO, as advised by the Brownfields Commission, uses EPA grants to provide environmental site assessment services.

Kansas City, Missouri’s PLAN DE ASIGNACIÓN HOME-ARP RESUMEN DEL BORRADOR DEL PLAN

The public is invited to attend a meeting of the Kansas City Brownfields Initiative. The meeting is to be held on Thursday, November 14, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Unified Government City Hall located at 701 N. 7th St. 5th Floor Conference Room Kansas City, Kansas.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grants money to investigate and clean up properties, known as “Brownfields,” which often are vacant and underused due to real or perceived contamination.

At this public meeting, discussion will be encouraged concerning a proposal to seek EPA grant funds to investigate and cleanup brownfield sites in Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri. Sites in the KCK historic northeast and midtown neighborhoods and near Quindaro Boulevard, including a site at 17th & Quindaro, will be discussed.

Community participation in this process is highly encouraged. The public is invited to learn, comment and provide input that will help improve grant proposals and assist in decisions that promote the removal of blight and contamination, create healthier places to live, work and play, and create jobs and new economic opportunities.

PERFORMING ARTS COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT:
1.A hearing will be held in the 10th floor conference room of City Hall, 414 East 12th Street, in Kansas City, Missouri, at 1:00 P.M.on Thursday, June 27, 2019 for the purpose of considering the amendment of the Performing Arts Community Improvement District, (the “District”) herein described.

2.A written request to remove property from the Performing Arts Community Improvement District has been submitted to the City Kansas City, Missouri. Said property is located at the NW corner of Baltimore Avenue and W 16th St, Kansas City, Missouri, with a situs address of 1534 Baltimore Ave and more particularly described and identified on Exhibit A to this notice.

3.The boundaries of the District are shown on the map included with this notice and described in the separate boundary description.

4. A copy of the request is available for review at the office of the City Clerk during regular business hours on the 25th floor of City Hall at 414 East 12th Street, Kansas City, Missouri.
