“Por lo general, no se les da muchas opciones – y ellos no conocen las diferentes opciones,” dijo Chávez-Ramírez. “Lo que nos hace diferentes es que nos tomamos el tiempo para hablar con ellos. Les damos una variedad de opciones – y nos aseguramos de protegerlos de la manera correcta. Tratamos de ofrecerles lo mejor (cobertura).”
Los agentes de Farm Bureau están dispuestos a hablar con los clientes y potenciales clientes en sus casas. Según García, las personas no toman suficiente tiempo para leer o entender las pólizas cuando van a una oficina o las compran en línea.
Los agentes de Farm Bureau también tratan de ayudar a los clientes, tienen en cuenta los factores claves a la hora de elegir la mejor cobertura, Chávez-Ramírez sugirió.
“Por ejemplo, si sabemos que una persona tiene $50,000 de cobertura y la casa vale $ 100.000, les decimos, ‘Mira, es mejor si usted paga $10 o $15 más por los $100.000 que vale la casa’,” dijo.

Insurance company emphasizes protecting clients “the right way”

For decades, Farm Bureau Financial Services has served the Kansas City area – and in ways some area residents might not expect.
Farm Bureau offers various insurance products. But in doing so, the West Des Moines, Iowa-headquartered company also encourages clients and potential clients to understand the types of insurance available to them and works to make sure they choose the right insurance with the right company, according to Farm Bureau agent Jose Garcia.
“We need to protect families and not only sell the product,” Garcia said.
The Latin community is one of the largest communities Farm Bureau serves. According to agent Medbor Chavez-Ramirez, the Hispanic community is one that’s generally not valued by insurance agents.
“Usually, they are not given … (many) choices – and they don’t know the different options,” Chavez-Ramirez said. “What makes us different is that we take time to talk to them. We give them a variety of options – and we make sure to protect them the right way. We try to offer them the best (coverage).”
And Farm Bureau agents are willing to talk with clients and potential clients at their homes. According to Garcia, people don’t take enough time reading or going over policies when they go to an office or buy them online.
Farm Bureau agents also try to help clients take into account the key factors when choosing the best coverage, Chavez-Ramirez suggested.
“For example, if we know a person has $50,000 coverage and the house is worth $100,000, we tell them, ‘Look, it is better if you pay $10 or $15 more for the $100,000 that the house is worth,’ ” he said.
