Welcome tourists! In this edition, we will talk about one of the key sites for the creation of the “Theory of Evolution” developed by Charles Darwin. Touristically speaking they are known as the Enchanted Islands. We talk about the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. Without a doubt, if you are a person who likes the diversity of flora and fauna on the planet, you can fulfill the dream of seeing many of these species in their natural habitat. You can find sea turtles, dolphins, sharks, whales, iguanas, lizards, sea lions and even penguins. It also has around 560 native plant species. In addition to several plants that have changed their structure due to the climate and the conditions of the land.

In the area of Isabela, specifically in Puerto Villamil, you will find one of the best excursions in the whole archipelago, we refer to the one of “Tunnels”. It is an area in which the remains of lava open some walls in the ocean which makes the stillness of the water almost like the one of a swimming pool, but in which you can swim with turtles, sea lions, sharks and where you can also observe a great number of bird colonies. Both the blue-footed boobies and the Galapagos penguins, one of the smallest penguin species in the world and the most resistant to warm temperatures.

Conoce Islas Galápagoss
Bienvenidos turistas, en esta edición nos toca hablar de uno de los sitios claves para la creación de la “Teoría de la Evolución” desarrollada por Charles Darwin, turísticamente hablando son conocidas como las Islas Encantadas, por si aún no sabes de qué lugar nos referimos, hablamos de las Islas Galápagos, Ecuador. Se trata de un archipiélago del Océano Pacífico ubicado a casi 600 millas de la costa de Ecuador y está conformado por 19 islas y alrededor de 100 islotes. Declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1978.
En 1835 el naturalista Charles Darwin exploró por su propio pie durante 2 semanas las islas, de inmediato empezó a tomar notas al respecto de las diferencias que existían en los caparazones de las tortugas, las diferencias entre aves de la misma especie, a especular sobre los motivos que llevan a las iguanas a bucear en aguas marinas, lo cual lo llevó a más adelante desarrollar tu teoría de la evolución. Es el segundo archipiélago con más actividad volcánica del planeta, sólo por detrás de Hawai, esto hace que sea un sitio de grandes investigaciones.
Sin duda alguna si eres una persona que le gusta la diversidad de flora y fauna del planeta aquí podrás cumplir el sueño de ver muchas de esas especies en su hábitat natural. Podrás encontrar, tortugas marinas, delfines, tiburones, ballenas, iguanas, lagartos, leones marinos e incluso pingüinos. Además cuenta con alrededor de 560 especies nativas de plantas, sumado a varias plantas que han cambiado su estructura debido al clima y a la condiciones de la tierra.
Los vuelos redondos de Kansas City a alguna de las principales islas de Galápagos tienen un costo promedio de $1,200 con al menos 2 escalas, como recomendación si tu compras tus vuelos por separado haciendo escala en Quito por $600, podrás encontrar vuelos redondos a las Galápagos por otros $300, pudiendo ahorrar algunos cientos de dólares al sumar ambas cuentas, a este costo debemos anexar una cuota de $100 de impuestos para los extranjeros que entren al Parque Nacional de Galápagos. Si tus posibilidades te lo permiten te recomiendo que contrates algún crucero por las islas, estos tienen acceso a muchos lugares exclusivos del archipiélago, por lo que podrás disfrutar de algunas playas casi vírgenes y de algunas islas sumamente protegidas, además de que incluyen hospedaje y alimentación completa, los costos son bastante elevados, yendo desde los $3,000 en adelante por 1 semana. Si piensas conocer el archipiélago por tu cuenta, podrás moverte entre islas en distintas embarcaciones por $20 por viaje, y para moverte en tierra en alguna isla podrás rentar un taxi por $3 para moverse en distancias cortas, acuerda con anticipación el costo con el chofer. Los hoteles son relativamente más elevados que en cualquier otro lugar de Ecuador, pero económicos en comparación de muchos otros lugares que hemos recomendado, teniendo un precio promedio de $40 por noche, y pudiendo rentar departamentos completos por $90. La alimentación tiene un costo promedio de $6 por comida completa, y sus principales platillos típicos son procedentes del mar.
¿Qué podemos ver y conocer en nuestro viaje?, A continuación te presento algunos bellos lugares que no deben faltar en tu viaje:
Isla San Cristóbal, es un enorme peñón partido por mitad en donde podrás hacer snorkel y las posibilidades de ver diversas especies marinas es muy grande, entre las más interesantes y llamativas es ver a los tiburones martillo en su hábitat natural, además no dejes de ir a la Lobería, una hermosa playa en la que los leones marinos comparten la arena y el agua en completa armonía con los visitantes. Puedes llegar en taxi por unos $2 desde el aeropuerto de la isla.
Isla Santa Cruz, en este bello lugar podrás encontrar durante casi todo el año a las famosas tortugas gigantes terrestres, la especie de tortugas terrestres más grandes del mundo. Las podrás encontrar especialmente en fincas como el Manzanillo o el Chaco por solo $3.
Santa Fe, es uno de los sitios donde podrás realizar nado con leones marinos con mayor facilidad, además de que podrás encontrar una especie de iguanas de un color de piel sumamente pálido y que no podrás ver en ninguna otra isla.
Isabela, en esta zona, específicamente en el Puerto Villamil podrás encontrar una de las mejores excursiones de todo el archipiélago, nos referimos a la de “Túneles”. Es una zona en la que los restos de lava abren unos muros en el océano lo que hace que la quietud del agua sea casi la de una piscina, pero en la que podrás nadar con tortugas, leones marinos, tiburones y donde además podrás observar gran cantidad de colonias de aves, tanto los piqueros de patas azules como los pingüinos de galápagos, una de las especies de pingüinos más pequeñas del mundo y las más resistentes a las temperaturas cálidas.
