Hearts have begun appearing again throughout the Greater Kansas City area.
The now-annual Parade of Hearts, a group of murals painted on 5-foot, heart-shaped sculptures, is on display through mid-August. Area residents can hunt for the 101 hearts that are placed near city streets in various communities, according to the official website.
“Parade of Hearts is a public art experience that celebrates our diversity, unites communities and supports nonprofits by placing beautifully designed hearts by local artists throughout the Kansas City region,” the website states.
The Parade of Hearts organization encourages people to download the official app to get a map with GPS locations of the hearts, learn more about the artists who designed them and the inspiration behind their work, and unlock badges by checking in at every heart location. The map also is accessible on the website.
On April 13, the organization hosted its Hearts Reveal Kickoff event, where all the hearts were exhibited together. The all-ages extravaganza featured activities ranging from concession stands to live music, according to the website.
“It is exciting not only for us, but for the entire Kansas City region,” said Jenn Nussbeck, Parade of Hearts executive director, during an interview with KCTV-5 ahead of the kickoff event.

Desfile de Corazones en exhibición en toda el área de KC
