A fusion of Mexican wrestling and Latin music is coming soon to the Greater Kansas City area.
From 5 p.m. to midnight Sept. 13, the Viva La Lucha Festival will take over the Madrid Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri, presenting displays of wrestling, known as lucha libre; and live music. Latin DJs are expected to spin music, too.
This year’s lineup hasn’t been announced; however, event organizers promise there will be a strong showing of talent rooted in both area and international scenes. Past editions of the festival have featured such acts as 3Ball MTY and DJ Astro, drawing fans of regional Mexican music, electronic beats and hip hop.
Attendees also can expect an array of food vendors, artisan booths and merchandise stands, offering everything from wrestling masks to street snacks. The atmosphere, organizers claim, is designed to be festive, family friendly and welcoming.
For area businesses wanting to participate, event organizers are offering sponsorship opportunities, including brand visibility and VIP seating access. Organizers see this as a way to create partnerships that elevate the event and the community businesses supporting it.

Una fusión de lucha libre mexicana y música latina llegará pronto al área metropolitana de Kansas City.
Del 13 de septiembre, de 5 p.m. a medianoche, el Viva La Lucha Festival tomará el escenario del Madrid Theatre en Kansas City, Missouri, presentando espectáculos de lucha libre y música en vivo. También se espera la participación de DJs latinos.
Aún no se ha anunciado el cartel de este año; sin embargo, los organizadores prometen una sólida muestra de talento tanto local como internacional. En ediciones pasadas, el festival ha presentado a artistas como 3Ball MTY y DJ Astro, atrayendo a fanáticos de la música regional mexicana, los ritmos electrónicos y el hip hop.
