Dos Mundos founder Clara Reyes is being featured in an installment of an upcoming children’s book series.
Titled “The Adventures of Hattie and Hank,” the nonfiction geography book series is geared toward readers in grades K-3. Each book in the series will feature a different country or state, according to the official website.
Written by Jordan Lowe and illustrated by Chelsea Buchanan, the first installment will focus on Kansas and will have a VIP section to highlight important leaders in the community. Reyes, who passed in 2024, will be one of the leaders featured in this section.
From 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 7), the authors will host a free book launch party at the Olathe Indian Creek Library, located at 16100 W. 135th St. The event will include book readings and book signings with both Lowe and Buchanan. Other activities will include bookmark decorating and designing Kansas flags.
It’s not necessary to purchase the book to attend. Copies of the book will be for sale during the event.

Fundadora de Dos Mundos recibe homenaje en nuevo libro infantil
La fundadora de Dos Mundos, Clara Reyes, aparece en una entrega de una próxima serie de libros infantiles.
Titulada “Las aventuras de Hattie y Hank”, esta serie de libros de geografía de no ficción está dirigida a lectores de kínder a tercer grado. Cada libro de la serie presentará un país o estado diferente, según el sitio web oficial.
Escrita por Jordan Lowe e ilustrada por Chelsea Buchanan, la primera entrega se centrará en Kansas y contará con una sección VIP para destacar a importantes líderes de la comunidad. Reyes, quien falleció en 2024, será una de las líderes que aparecerán en esta sección.
El domingo (7 de septiembre), de 2 a 4:30 p.m., las autoras ofrecerán un evento gratuito de lanzamiento del libro en la Biblioteca Olathe Indian Creek, ubicada en 16100 W. 135th St. El evento incluirá lecturas y firmas de libros con Lowe y Buchanan. Otras actividades incluirán la decoración de marcapáginas y el diseño de banderas de Kansas.
No es necesario comprar el libro para asistir. Habrá ejemplares a la venta durante el evento.
