Los Jefes ayudarán a celebrar su centenario

Un hito del área está a punto de iniciar una larga celebración de aniversario.

A partir del viernes, 5 de septiembre, a las 5 p.m., Union Station Kansas City iniciará el festejo de su aniversario 100; y éste continuará durante 60 días.

El evento del viernes contará con música, entretenimiento, fuegos artificiales, así como la aparición de los jugadores de fútbol americano de los Jefes de Kansas City.

“Union Station, al igual que los Jefes, es una parte consagrada por el tiempo de la tela de Kansas City – y estamos encantados de poder ayudar a celebrar el centenario de este hito de Kansas City, en conjunto con el inicio de la temporada 2014 de fútbol americano”, comentó Clark Hunt, Presidente y CEO de los Jefes, según se cita en un comunicado de prensa.Union2

El evento incluirá un concierto a las 6:30 p.m., seguido por llegada a las 7:30 de los jugadores de los Jefes, porristas, entrenadores y miembros del personal, junto con la mascota del equipo KC Wolf. Un espectáculo láser multimedia, presentado por Ivy Funds, Waddell & Reed Inc. y el Museo Nacional de la Primera Guerra Mundial, iniciará a las 8:45.

“Este evento nocturno al aire libre ofrecerá algo para todos, ya que reuniremos la historia, música un show digital 3D impresionante, fuegos artificiales y la tremenda energía del rally excitante del Viernes Rojo de los Jefes”, señaló George Guastello, Presidente y CEO de Union Station. “Invitamos a todo Kansas City y a aquellos de toda la región a que vengan a celebrar. Algo como esto sólo sucede una vez cada 100 años y estamos anticipando una noche inolvidable”.

El evento es gratuito y abierto al público. Se pueden comprar bebidas en las instalaciones de Union Station.

Chiefs helping to celebrate landmark’s centennial

An area landmark is about to stage a long anniversary celebration.

Starting at 5 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 5), Union Station Kansas City will begin celebrating its 100th anniversary. The celebration will continue for 60 days.

Friday’s event will feature music, entertainment, fireworks and include appearances by Kansas City Chiefs football players.

“Union Station, just like the Chiefs, is a time-honored part of the fabric of Kansas City – and we are delighted to be able to help celebrate the centennial of this Kansas City landmark, in conjunction with the start of the 2014 football season,” Clark Hunt, Chiefs chairman and CEO, was quoted in a press release as saying.

The event will include a 6:30 p.m. concert, followed by the appearances of Chiefs players, cheerleaders, coaches and staff members at 7:30, along with team mascot KC Wolf. A multimedia laser show, presented by Ivy Funds, Waddell & Reed Inc. and the National War I Museum, will start at 8:45.

 “This evening outdoor event will offer something for everyone, as we bring together history, music, a breathtaking digital 3D show, fireworks and the tremendous energy of the Chiefs Red Friday pep rally,” stated George Guastello, Union Station president and CEO. “We invite all of Kansas City and those throughout the region to come celebrate. Something like this only happens once every 100 years, and we are anticipating an unforgettable evening.”

The event is free and open to the public. Drinks can be purchased at the Union Station facilities.
