El pre-candidato a la presidencia por el partido republicano Donald Trump aparenta tener una gran facilidad de criticar al que quiera. Ya son muchos los políticos y periodistas atacados por Trump pero su última víctima fue alguien a quien pocos se atreverían a criticar: el papa Francisco.
Trump comenzó expresando su respeto hacia el Papa y continuó afirmando que cuando se lo encuentre tendrá que advertirle algo. “¿Han oído que el EI (Estado Islámico) quiere entrar y apoderarse del Vaticano?… eso es lo que le comentaría, voy a tener que espantar al Papa, aunque creo que él sólo puede ser asustado por Dios”
Es sabido que el papa Francisco no es un fan del capitalismo y luego de que el Sumo Pontífice declarara que el capitalismo es “tóxico, corrupto, y que propaga la codicia” Trump, por supuesto, no pudo contenerse y sintió la necesidad de brindar su opinión al respeto.
Es necesario recordar que el Sumo Pontífice llegará a Washington DC el 22 de septiembre para dirigirse al congreso. Es de esperarse que el papa Francisco aliente al congreso a dejar de lado las diferencias y empezar a trabajar para combatir problemas de desigualdad económica, cambio climático y problemas migratorios.

Trump makes pope target of attack

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has verbally attacked his share of politicians and journalists lately, but a recent target was neither of those.
It was Pope Francis.
Trump expressed his respect for the pope, but said that when he saw him he would have to tell him something. According to The Washington Post, he said he would ask the pope if he knew that the Islamic State “wants to come and take over the Vatican.”
Trump also said he would need “to scare the pope,” but added that he hoped Pope Francis could “only be scared by God.”
Pope Francis’ recent declaration that capitalism “is toxic, corrupt and … spreads greed” might have triggered the comments by Trump, an internationally known billionaire entrepreneur.
In other news about the pope, on Sept. 22, the Catholic leader will visit Washington, D.C., to address the U.S. Congress. It’s expected that Pope Francis will encourage the members of Congress to put aside their differences and start working to find solutions to the problems of economic inequality, climate change and the country’s immigration system.
