Trump claims he’ll send back all Syrian refugees if elected

By Paula Alzate

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has made another controversial campaign promise.
On Sept. 30, during his town hall meeting at Keene (N.H.) High School, Trump said he would send back current Syrian refugees in the United States and wouldn’t allow future refugees into the country if elected.
“I’m putting the people … (on) notice that are coming here from Syria as part of this mass migration – that if I win, they’re going back, they’re going back,” he said. “I’m telling you, … they’re going back.”
Trump also criticized the Obama administration, claiming President Obama was planning to allow more than 200,000 Syrian refugees into the United States – a total that media outlets such as Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper have challenged. He also criticized Obama for not controlling the mounting tensions among the governments of Russia, Syria and the United States.
“We have a president that … doesn’t know what he’s doing,” he said. “We want to be strong.… The problem we have is we have a president that is not respected by Putin (Russian President Vladimir Putin).”
