El Día de la Tierra (Abril 22) es una oportunidad ideal para enseñarles a los niños la importancia de cuidar a este magnífico planeta y asegurar la continuidad de recursos para generaciones por venir.
Nunca es demasiado temprano para marcar en nuestros niños la importancia de reducir la cantidad de residuos, el reuso de recursos, y la importancia del reciclado. No subestimemos el poder de influenciar a alguien a una temprana edad. Puedes estar criando a un futuro ambientalista o el creador de una nueva forma de combustible – o una nueva técnica de reciclado.
Para ensenarle la importancia de mantener el mundo limpio, compara al mundo con tu hogar. Para empezar, crea un escenario y pregúntale: Si no cortamos la grama, no limpiamos la casa, y no lavamos la ropa, ¿sería este hogar un lugar cómodo para vivir? Tu niño podrá entender el la importancia de mantener el mundo limpio al simplificarlo de esta manera.
Adicionalmente, mantén a tus niños entusiasmados con el Día de la Tierra con actividades que los entretengan. Las actividades manuales son una de las mejores formas de impactar mientras aprendemos y nos divertimos. Por ejemplo, formen una huerta – o si el lugar no lo permite pantas un par de flores. Mientras trabajan con tu niños explícale la forma en la que las plantes y los arboles ayudan al ambiente.
Una actividad creativa para asegurar que entiendan el concepto del reusó de recursos es decorar una bolsa para ir al mercado. De esta manera le puedes explicar como uno puede usar la misma bolsa en vez de usar bolsas plásticas constantemente.
Otra manera de celebrar el Día de la Tierra es estableciendo metas para tu familia para ser mejores habitantes de este mundo. Pon metas como limpiar las veredas, continuar con la huerta, o reciclar vidrio. Mantén a los niños entusiasmados y recompensa sus buenas acciones.
Este es un planeta magnifico que ofrece incontables recursos. Por eso, los aliento a ser conscientes de nuestras acciones. Juntos y con la ayuda de los niños podemos asegurar que nuestro planeta siga bendiciéndonos con recursos por años por venir.

Teach little ones the importance of Earth Day

Earth Day (April 22) is the perfect opportunity to teach our little ones how important it is to take care of this amazing planet we inhabit and ensure that our planet’s resources are available for many generations to come.
It’s never too early to teach our kids the importance of reducing the amount of waste, reusing resources and recycling. Don’t underestimate the power behind influencing a child at an early age. You might be raising a future environmentalist or the creator of a new form of fuel – or a new recycling technique.
To teach your kids the importance of Earth Day, explain to your children the importance of keeping the world clean by comparing it to your home. To start, create a scenario and ask: If the lawn is not mowed, the house is not cleaned and the laundry is not washed, would we be comfortable living at home? Your children will have an easier time understanding the importance of keeping this world cleaned if you simplify it that way.
In addition, get your kids excited about Earth Day with fun activities that will keep them entertained. Hands-on activities are great ways to make an impact on your children while learning and having fun. For instance, plant a garden – or if space is unavailable, plant a few flowers. While you’re at it, you might explain the way plants and trees help the environment.
To assure the understanding of the concept behind reusing resources, you might want to decorate a shopping bag with your children. This will give you the opportunity to show your children how we can use this bag every time we go to the store, instead of using plastic bags.
Another great way to celebrate Earth Day is to challenge the family to become friendlier to the planet we inhabit. Set goals for the next few months, such as cleaning up the sidewalk of your street, keeping up with the garden or recycling glass. Keep your little ones accountable and reward their behavior toward making a better world.
This is a magnificent planet that offers us an accountable amount of resources for us to live. Therefore, I encourage you to be more conscious of the carbon footprint we humans leave. Together and with the help of our children, we can make sure this planet continues blessing us with resources for years to come.
