En la mañana del sábado 4 de marzo, el presidente Donald J. Trump acusó al ex presidente Barack Obama de espiar y escuchar sus llamadas telefónicas en la Torre Trump en Nueva York durante la campaña presidencial de 2016.
La acusación se hizo a través del medio de comunicación más utilizado por el Presidente de nuestro país; Twitter.
“¡Terrible! Me enteré de que Obama tenía mis “cables pinchados” en la Trump Tower justo antes de la victoria. No se encontró nada”. – Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) 4 de marzo de 2017.
Lo que aparenta ser un juego para el Presidente de los Estados Unidos es de hecho extremadamente serio. Un Presidente no puede ordenar al FBI que vigile a un ciudadano estadounidense. Esta orden debe ser justificada por un juez. En otras palabras, el presidente Trump acusó a Obama de cometer un delito.
Y Trump no se detuvo allí. El mismo día publicó otros tres tweets. Uno de ellos cuestionando la legalidad de las acciones de Obama.
No tomó sino un día para que el ex presidente Obama negara tales acusaciones.
«Ningún funcionario de la Casa Blanca ha interferido alguna vez con ninguna investigación independiente dirigida por el Departamento de Justicia, ni el presidente Obama ni ningún funcionario de la Casa Blanca ordenó la vigilancia de ningún ciudadano estadounidense.
El 6 de marzo, el ex director de inteligencia nacional bajo el mando del presidente Obama, James Clapper también negó la acusación de Trump al declarar en una entrevista de ABC “no hubo escuchas telefónicas contra Trump Tower durante la campaña llevada a cabo por parte de la National Intelligence Community … El FBI”.
El drama continuó hasta el día en que se escribió este artículo.
Esta cadena de acontecimientos ha sido una herida auto infligida por la presidencia de Trump. En lugar de gobernar el país, el presidente Trump mal utiliza toda su energía y recursos para ganar la guerra que creó con los medios de comunicación. Este comportamiento adolescente pone al país y a todos nosotros en riesgo al no concentrarse en lo que realmente importa.

The teenage President: Wasting time, energy and resources

On the morning of Saturday March 4th, President Donald J. Trump accused former President Barrack Obama of wiretapping his phones at Trump Tower in New York during the 2016 Presidential campaign.
The accusation was done through the President’s most used communication media; Twitter.
“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 4, 2017.
What may seem like a game to the President of the United States is in fact extremely serious. A president cannot order the FBI to surveillance an American citizen. This order must be warrant by a judge. In other words, President Trump accused Obama of committing a crime.
Trump did not stop there. On the same day he posted three more tweets. One questioning the legality of Obama’s actions.

It did not take but a day for former President Obama to deny such allegations. Obama’s spoke person released a statement denying Trump’s accusations:
“No White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice. Neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false.”
On March 6th, the former director of national intelligence under President Obama, James Clapper also denied Trump’s allegation by stating in an ABC interview “there was no wiretap against Trump Tower during the campaign conducted by any part of the National Intelligence Community … including the FBI.”
The drama continued until the day this article was written. These chain of events have been a self-inflicted wound to the Trump presidency. Instead of governing the country, President Trump wastes all his energy and resources on winning the war he created with the media. This teenage behavior put the country and all of us at risk by not concentrating in what really matters.
