Meza Arellano creates Veronica Style brand out of love
Kansas City area resident Veronica Meza Arellano has taken her love for jewelry to another level.
A professional level, to be exact.
The resident of Kansas City, Missouri’s Westside neighborhood and former resident of Kansas City, Kansas’ Argentine neighborhood sells jewelry through her brand Veronica Style. Her wares include handmade string and beaded bracelets with religious medals or Turkish evil eyes, polymer clay earrings and wood earrings. Most recently, she started selling epoxy resin earrings in multiple styles. Meza Arellano also takes custom orders.
Meza Arellano’s inspiration comes from the Mexican culture of her birth and the flair of wearing unique pieces, she said. Creating accessories has its challenges, she acknowledged.
“I have so many ideas for new pieces, but the difficult part is sitting down and getting the components together to bring them to life,” Meza Arellano said.
The brand Veronica Style was born when Meza Arellano’s oldest son came up with the name, she recalled.
“He said my jewelry matched my style, and that is how Veronica Style came to be,” Meza Arellano said.
Meza Arellano loves her business and is proud of it.
“I love the creative outlet making my jewelry provides me with, as well as sharing a little part of me with every piece I make,” she said.
Veronica Style’s products are available on Etsy and through the Facebook group Shop Veronica Style. In addition, Meza Arellano sells her wares by attending area pop-up events within the community.
Meza Arellano has always loved trendy accessories like those she sells through Veronica Style, she said. She began making her own accessories in 2019 after visiting Mexico.
“I was shopping at a little mercado and came across some beautiful handmade string and beaded bracelets with religious medals and the Turkish evil eye and bought a handful to bring back with me and give as gifts,” Meza Arellano said. “While admiring these bracelets, I started to experiment with making them. This hobby grew into a business after a friend encouraged me to sell my pieces.”

La residente del barrio Westside de Kansas City, Missouri y ex residente del barrio argentino de Kansas City, Kansas, vende joyas a través de su marca Veronica Style. Sus productos incluyen pulseras de hilo y de perlas hechas a mano con medallas religiosas u ojos turcos, aretes de arcilla polimérica y aretes de madera. Más recientemente, comenzó a vender aretes de resina epoxi en varios estilos. Meza Arellano también hace pedidos personalizados.
Su inspiración viene de la cultura mexicana de la que proviene y el estilo de usar piezas únicas, dijo. La creación de accesorios tiene sus desafíos, reconoció.
“Tengo tantas ideas para piezas nuevas, pero la parte difícil es sentarse y juntar los componentes para darles vida”, dijo ella.
La marca Veronica Style nació cuando su hijo se le ocurrió el nombre, recordó.
“Dijo que mis joyas combinaban con mi estilo, y así nació Veronica Style”, dijo Meza Arellano.
Ella ama su negocio y está orgullosa de él.
“Me encanta la salida creativa que me brinda hacer mis joyas, además de compartir una pequeña parte de mí con cada pieza que hago”, dijo.
Los productos de Veronica Style están disponibles en Etsy y a través del grupo de Facebook Shop Veronica Style. Además, Meza Arellano vende sus productos asistiendo a eventos emergentes dentro de la comunidad.
Meza Arellano siempre ha amado los accesorios de moda como los que vende a través de Veronica Style, dijo. Comenzó a hacer sus propios accesorios en el 2019 después de visitar México.
“Estaba comprando en un pequeño mercado y me encontré con unos hermosos brazaletes de hilo y de perlas hechos a mano con medallas religiosas y el mal de ojo turco y compré un puñado para traerlos conmigo y regalarlos”, dijo Meza Arellano. “Mientras admiraba estas pulseras, comencé a experimentar haciéndolas. Este pasatiempo se convirtió en un negocio después de que un amigo me animó a vender mis piezas”.
