The Midwest Trust Center(formerly Carlsen Center) launches their 2023-2024 season with their signature variety this September.
“Coming out of the gate we wanted to show our community that there is a place for them in our theatres,” reflected Executive Director, Stacie McDaniel. “From a ‘Bridgerton’ themed musical performance to new dance works with the best dance companies in our region to an Academy Award winning film experience, we invite the KC community to attend a show with us.”
Performances will take place at the Midwest Trust Center on the campus of Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS 66210).
Saturday September 9 at 2 & 5p.m. – The Opus 76 Quartet Music of Regency kicks off another season as MTC’s artist in-residence with a special concert featuring music from the Regency pair ed with high tea service between the performances. Works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert will delight audiences at this “Bridgerton”-the med performance.
Friday-Saturday, September 15-16 at 8 p.m. – New Dance Partners: The Ultimate Collaboration celebrates the ir tenth anniversary of new works! The 2023 New Dance Partners include Kansas City Ballet working with Gina Patterson; Owen/Cox Dance Group working with Norbert de la Cruz III; Störling Dance Theater working with Kyra Jean Green; and Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company working with Omar Román De Jesús.
Friday, September 22 at 8p.m. – An all new national tour will bring fans a whole new way to experience the ir favorite box office hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The Academy Award-winning film from Sony Pictures Animation will be accompanied by a live orchestra, band and turntables with a scratch DJ playing music from the score and soundtrack. Joining the tour is The Broadway Sinfonietta, an all-women and majority women-of-color or chestra. Emily Marshal will serve as the tour’s conductor.

El Centro Midwest Trust (anteriormente Centro Carlsen) lanza su temporada 2023-2024 con su variedad exclusiva este septiembre.

Viernes, 22 de septiembre a las 8 p.m. – Una gira nacional completamente nueva brindará a los fanáticos una forma completamente nueva de experimentar su éxito de taquilla favorito, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. La película ganadora del Premio de la Academia de Sony Pictures Animation estará acompañada por una orquesta en vivo, una banda y tocadiscos con un DJ scratch que tocará la música de la partitura y la banda sonora. A la gira se une la Broadway Sinfonietta, una orquesta exclusivamente femenina y mayoritariamente de mujeres de color. Emily Marshall actuará como directora de la gira.
