March marks Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate the achievements of women and recognize their ongoing struggles for equality.
It’s also a time to think about making progress, as the theme for this year’s Women’s History Month makes clear.
For 2025, the theme is “Moving Forward Together.” This theme emphasizes the power of collective progress, highlighting how women inspire and support one another to create meaningful change.
Women need to inspire and support one another more than ever. That’s especially true for Hispanic women in the United States. Many are on the front lines of essential industries, leading movements for labor rights, educational access and immigration reform. Others are working to ensure that future generations have the tools and opportunities to succeed, despite ongoing challenges. With the current political climate influencing policies that impact them directly, it’s crucial that they raise their voices and exert their leadership.
Fortunately, there are signs that this is the case. In classrooms, workplaces and communities, Hispanic women are pushing forward, ensuring that future generations are more informed, more empowered, more united.
To honor Women’s History Month, Dos Mundos is continuing its tradition of recognizing Latinas who are making a difference. The women being honored during March represent the spirit of “Moving Forward Together.” They use their voices to educate, inspire and lead. Their stories serve as reminders that progress is built through shared efforts and the passing of knowledge from one generation to the next.
As we observe Women’s History Month, which has grown from a weeklong celebration in 1978 in a California city into a national celebration, let’s not just reflect on history. Let’s take action. Let’s support the women fighting for education, justice and equality.
And most importantly, let’s move forward together.
El Mes de la Historia de la Mujer es un momento para avanzar juntas
Marzo marca el Mes de la Historia de la Mujer, un momento para celebrar los logros de las mujeres y reconocer sus continuas luchas por la igualdad.
También es una oportunidad para reflexionar sobre el progreso, como lo deja claro el tema de este año para el Mes de la Historia de la Mujer.
Para 2025, el lema es “Avanzando Juntas”. Este tema enfatiza el poder del progreso colectivo, destacando cómo las mujeres se inspiran y se apoyan mutuamente para generar un cambio significativo.
Las mujeres necesitan inspirarse y apoyarse entre sí más que nunca. Esto es especialmente cierto para las mujeres hispanas en Estados Unidos. Muchas de ellas están en la primera línea de industrias esenciales, liderando movimientos por los derechos laborales, el acceso a la educación y la reforma migratoria. Las mujeres que serán homenajeadas durante marzo representan el espíritu de “Avanzando Juntas”. Utilizan sus voces para educar, inspirar y liderar. Sus historias nos recuerdan que el progreso se construye a través del esfuerzo compartido y la transmisión de conocimientos de una generación a otra.
A medida que celebramos el Mes de la Historia de la Mujer, que ha crecido desde una conmemoración de una semana en 1978 en una ciudad de California hasta convertirse en una celebración nacional, no nos limitemos a reflexionar sobre la historia. Actuemos. Apoyemos a las mujeres que luchan por la educación, la justicia y la igualdad.
