Greater Kansas City area residents will soon have the opportunity to learn more about a Westside project.
On Saturday (April 5), the city of Kansas City, Missouri, will host the first community summit about the Reconnecting the Westside project at the Boulevard Brewing Co. According to the official website, the summit will focus on “gathering input, developing a shared vision of initial alternatives and reviewing refined alternatives.” It also will include interactive tools to help residents visualize and design future alternatives.
“Reconnecting the Westside focuses on restoring connections within the Westside neighborhood, addressing historic challenges caused by the construction of I-35 and I-670,” the official website states. “Your feedback will allow forward movement on the project, ensuring the study reflects the needs of the Westside and corridor users.”
Conducted in partnership with the Missouri Department of Transportation, the project aims to create a safer, more connected and inclusive future for the Westside neighborhood. Funded by a $1-million Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods grant, the project will not only reconnect neighborhoods, but also “enhance transportation safety and foster equity and sustainability,” according to the website.

os residentes del área metropolitana de Kansas City pronto tendrán la oportunidad de conocer más sobre el proyecto Reconectando el Westside.
El sábado 5 de abril, la ciudad de Kansas City, Missouri, organizará la primera cumbre comunitaria sobre el proyecto Reconectando el Westside en Boulevard Brewing Co.
Según el sitio web oficial, la cumbre se centrará en “recopilar opiniones, desarrollar una visión compartida de las alternativas iniciales y revisar las alternativas mejoradas”. También incluirá herramientas interactivas para ayudar a los residentes a visualizar y diseñar alternativas futuras.
“Reconectando el Westside se centra en restaurar las conexiones dentro del vecindario de Westside, abordando los desafíos históricos causados por la construcción de la I-35 y la I-670”, afirma el sitio web oficial. “Sus comentarios permitirán avanzar en el proyecto, asegurando que el estudio refleje las necesidades de los usuarios de Westside y del corredor”.
