Por meses, el presidente Obama se mantuvo neutral en la carrera entre el senador Bernie Sanders y la ex secretaria de Estado, Hillary Clinton para la nominación presidencial del Partido Demócrata.
Sin embargo, finalmente el Presidente ha apoyado oficialmente la candidatura de Clinton.
Obama demostró su apoyo recientemente después de reunirse con Sanders. Durante la reunión, Obama exhortó a Sanders para que reencauzara su fuerza de retar a la campaña de Clinton para apoyarla. Parece que el trabajo de Obama es unir al Partido Demócrata después de una larga e intensa temporada primaria que dejó a muchos seguidores de Sanders sintiéndose devastados y resentidos.
Aunque Sanders pareció estar de acuerdo con la solicitud de Obama y no demostró ninguna señal de continuar con su campaña, horas después de la reunión Sanders habló en un mitin en Washington, D.C. donde invitó a sus seguidores a que acudieran a las urnas y siguieran luchando por una revolución política. “Creo que no ha habido nadie tan calificado para tener este puesto”, declaró recientemente el Presidente. “Estoy con ella. Estoy emocionado, y no veo la hora de salir y hacer campaña para Hillary”.
Inmediatamente después de recibir el patrocinio del Presidente, Clinton anunció que ella y el Presidente tendrían su primera presentación de campaña para la carrera presidencial el miércoles 15 de junio en Green Bay, Wisconsin.

President Obama endorses Clinton as Democratic nominee

For months, President Obama remained neutral in the race between U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.
Finally, however, the president has officially endorsed Clinton’s candidacy.
Obama made his endorsement recently after meeting with Sanders in the Oval Office. During the meeting, Obama urged Sanders to redirect his strength from challenging Clinton’s campaign to supporting it. It seems to be Obama’s job to reunite the Democratic Party after a long, intense primary season that left many of Sanders’ supporters feeling devastated and bitter.
Although Sanders seemed agreeable to Obama’s request and didn’t show any signs of continuing his campaign, hours after the meeting, Sanders spoke at a rally in Washington, D.C. There, he encouraged his supporters to go to the polls and continue fighting for a political revolution. However, Sanders also has announced he’s planning to meet with Clinton to join efforts to defeat Republican candidate Donald Trump in November.
All Clinton-Sanders drama aside, the president seems ready and excited to endorse Clinton.
“I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office,” the president stated recently. “I’m with her. I am fired up, and I cannot wait to get out there to campaign for Hillary.”
Immediately after receiving the president’s endorsement, Clinton announced she and the president would hold their first joint campaign appearance of the presidential race on Wednesday (June 15) in Green Bay, Wis.
