Welcome tourists! In this edition, we will talk about San Diego, California one of the cities considered among the most beautiful in the country, which is also a border city with our neighbor Mexico. It has an estimated population of 1 million and a half citizens, but the urban San Diego-Tijuana border makes it the second largest urban agglomeration between the United States and a foreign country, with an estimated population of 5 million citizens.
The city of San Diego is known for its perfect climate, regardless of the time of the year its temperature is quite stable. The average temperature in the day is 70° F, while the nights are cooler with an average temperature of 60° F. Also, due to its geographical location, it has countless activities, attractions, and amusements to enjoy. It has 74 miles of beaches in the Pacific Ocean, majestic bays, resplendent mountain ranges and a beautiful view of the desert.
Round flights from Kansas to San Diego have an average price of $330, and you can find them directly or with 1 layover. About mobility within the city the most comfortable is to rent a car, but don’t worry if your budget is limited. The tram service covers most of the metropolitan area of the city and covers 3 lines. This city offers uber and other taxi platforms, so you can find an average price for your trips within the city. The accommodation in this beautiful city is a bit higher than the average. You can find rooms in 3-star hotels for $150 per night and in a 5-star hotel for about $400. As far as food we must remember that the city of San Diego belonged for a long time to the Mexican territory and that also is a border city of the same country, so much of the gastronomy belongs to Mexico. Its pretty common to find many Mexican food restaurants where their most common attractions are tacos, burritos, tamales, meat, enchiladas, and stuffed chiles. The food prices are around $16.
Now it’s time to discover the places and events that we should not miss during our visit to San Diego:
Old Town is a protected state park and undoubtedly a way to understand the roots of San Diego. The city has grown and changed over the last 200 years, some of the houses that are here were built just after Mexico became independent from Spain in 1821. The change was caused due to the scarce wood that was in the territory at that time the first adobe houses were built. Visiting this part of the city is like traveling back in time to when San Diego was part of ancient Mexico, with unpaved streets, craft shops, restaurants of typical Mexican food and much more.
San Diego Zoo is one of the 10 largest and most famous zoos in the world, housing more than 4,000 animals and more than 800 species along 80 hectares of land, where most of them are outdoors in different replicated habitats for better adaptation. In addition to participating very actively in animal conservation and reproduction and then release the specimens in their wild habitats. Created just over 100 years ago, it is one of the few zoos in the world with giant pandas. The general admission price is $48 for adults and $38 for children. You can buy packages that include extra activities or to visit for several days since hardly a whole day is enough to visit it completely.
Balboa Park is the largest urban park in the United States. A place where you can also enjoy beautiful vegetation where you turn 18 museums and cultural centers among which stand out: the Museum of Art, the Museum of Photographic Arts, the Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Man of San Diego. There is also the aforementioned zoo. You can enjoy several theaters and different spaces dedicated to exposing dance, plays and musical performances for free. You can also find a large number of botanical gardens of all kinds, among which are the Alcázar Garden with beautiful floral ornaments, the Botanical Building with more than 2000 tropical plants and also the Zoro Garden site dedicated to butterflies. And that’s not all you can find here, if you like sports, you can find archery courses, golf courses, baseball, a velodrome and much more.
San Diego International Comic Convention is the largest comic event in the country and the 4th largest in the world. It’s held every year during the summer, lasts for 4 days and next year it will celebrate the 50th anniversary of this huge event. In this event there are seminars and workshops for comic professionals, there are presentations of films and series, advances of the most anticipated video games, costume contests. You can also find a huge space dedicated to the sale of collectible items some of them exclusive to the event, an autograph area with main actors from series and movies, and much more. It has an attendance level of more than 30 thousand people per year that come from all over the country. Undoubtedly the most anticipated geek event of the year.

Conoce San Diego
Bienvenidos turistas, en esta edición nos toca hablar de una de las ciudades considerada entre las más bellas de todo el país, que además es ciudad frontera con nuestro país vecino México, nos referimos a San Diego, California. Cuenta con una población estimada de 1 millón y medio de habitantes, pero la conurbación que tiene San Diego-Tijuana además de hacerla la segunda mayor aglomeración urbana entre Estados Unidos y un país extranjero le da una población estimada de 5 millones de habitantes.
La ciudad de San Diego es reconocida por su clima perfecto, sin importar la época del año su temperatura es bastante estable, la temperatura promedio en el día es de 70° f, mientras que las noches son más frescas con una temperatura promedio de 60° f. Además por su ubicación geográfica cuenta con innumerable cantidad de actividades, atractivos y diversiones que puedes disfrutar aquí. Contando con 74 millas de playas del Océano Pacífico, majestuosas bahías, resplandecientes cordilleras y una hermosa vista del desierto.
Los vuelos redondos de Kansas a San Diego tienen un costo promedio de $330, y podrás encontrarlos de manera directa o con 1 escala. Para movilidad dentro de la ciudad lo más cómodo sin lugar a dudas es la renta de un automóvil, pero si tu presupuesto no es tan alto no te preocupes, el servicio de tranvía cubre la mayor parte del área metropolitana de la ciudad y cuenta con 3 líneas para cubrir con ese cometido, además de que esta ciudad cuenta con servicio de uber y otras plataformas de taxis para que tu puedas cotizar el costo promedio de tus viajes dentro de la ciudad. El hospedaje en esta linda ciudad es un poco más elevado del promedio que regularmente presentamos, con habitaciones en hoteles 3 estrellas por $150 por noche y en un hotel 5 estrellas por unos $400. En cuanto a comida se trata debemos recordar que la ciudad de San Diego perteneció por mucho tiempo al territorio mexicano y sumado a eso es ciudad frontera del mismo país, por lo que gran parte de la gastronomía base pertenece a México, así que será común encontrar muchos restaurantes de comida mexicana en donde sus atractivos más comunes son los tacos, burritos, tamales, carne asada, enchiladas y los chiles rellenos, los costos por comida son de $16.
Ahora toca el turno de descubrir esos sitio y eventos que no debemos perdernos en nuestra visita por San Diego:
Old Town, es un parque estatal protegido y que es sin duda una forma de conocer de raíz lo que la ciudad de San Diego ha crecido y ha cambiado a lo largo de los ultimos 200 años, algunas de las casas que aquí se encuentran se construyeron justo después de que México se independizara en 1821 de España, debido a la escasa madera que había en el territorio en esos tiempos se construyeron las primeras casas de adobe. Visitar esta parte de la ciudad es sin lugar a dudas volver en el tiempo a cuando San Diego formaba parte del antiguo México, con calles sin asfaltar, tiendas de productos artesanales, restaurantes de comida típica mexicana, gente vestida de época y mucho más.
San Diego Zoo, es uno de los 10 zoológicos más grandes y famosos del mundo, albergando a más de 4,000 animales y más de 800 especies a lo largo de 80 hectáreas de terreno, en donde la mayoría de ellos se encuentran al aire libre en distintas hábitats replicadas para su mejor adaptación, además de participar muy activamente en la conservación y reproducción animal para así después liberar los ejemplares en sus hábitats salvajes. Creado hace poco más de 100 años es uno de los pocos zoológicos en el mundo con ejemplares de pandas gigantes. El costo de entrada general es de $48 adultos y $38 niños, podrás comprar paquetes que incluyan actividades extras o para visitarlo por varios días ya que dificilmente un día entero te baste para visitarlo por completo.
Balboa Park, es el parque urbano más grande de todo Estados Unidos. Un sitio en el que podrás disfrutar además de hermosa vegetación por donde voltees de 18 museos y centros culturales entre los que destacan: el Museo de Arte, el Museo de Artes Fotográficas, el Museo de Historia Natural, el Museo del Hombre de San Diego. También se encuentra el antes mencionado zoológico. Podrás disfrutar de varios teatros y distintos espacios dedicados a exponer danza, obras de teatro y espectáculos musicales totalmente gratuitos. También podrás encontrar una gran cantidad de jardines botánicos de todo tipo, entre los que destacan el Jardín Alcázar con hermosos ornamentos florales, el Edificio Botánico con más de 2000 plantas tropicales y también el Zoro Garden sitio dedicado a las mariposas. Y eso no es todo lo que puedes encontrar aquí, si te gustan los deportes, podrás encontrar campos de tiro con arco, campos de golf, de beisbol, un velódromo y mucho más.
Convención Internacional de Cómics de San Diego, es el evento de historietas más grande de todo el país y el 4to más grande del mundo, se celebra cada año durante el verano, tiene una duración de 4 días y el próximo año se festejará el 50 aniversario de este enorme evento. En este evento se dan seminarios y talleres para profesionales de historietas, se dan presentaciones de películas y series, avances de los videojuegos más esperados, concursos de disfraces, un enorme espacio dedicado a la venta de articulos coleccionables algunos de ellos exclusivos del evento, un área de autógrafos con actores estelares de series y peliculas, y mucho más. Tiene un nivel de asistencia superior a las 30 mil personas por año que provienen de todo el país. Sin duda el evento geek más esperado del año.
