El 11 de septiembre el departamento de policía de Kansas City Mo. junto con los patrulleros de policía de Missouri y la fuerza de tarea de DUI (manejar en estado de embriaguez) efectuaron un puesto de control de sobriedad en U.S. Highway 169 y N.W. Harlem Road.
En el puesto de control los conductores fueron revisados y se les proporcionó información acerca de manejar y tomar bebidas alcohólicas.
Según un comunicado de prensa previsto por el sargento Christopher Bentch, este lugar es “conocido por accidentes relacionados con el alcohol y arrestos por beber alcohol y manejar al mismo tiempo.” El departamento de policía reportaron que de 690 vehículos detenidos el 11 de septiembre, 15 resultaron en arrestos por manejar en estado de embriaguez.
Teniendo en cuenta otras violaciones y citaciones reportaron las siguientes estadísticas: conducir en estado de suspensión, 3; conducir sin seguro, 4; violaciones con narcóticos, 2; violaciones de armas, 1.
Adicionalmente hubo un incidente de ‘hit-and-run (atropellar y huir). Al mismo tiempo hubo dos vehículos que trataron de evadir el puesto de control.

KCPD conducts sobriety checkpoint

On Sept. 11, the Kansas City (Mo.) Police Department, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Northland DUI Task Force, conducted a sobriety checkpoint on U.S. Highway 169 and N.W. Harlem Road.
At the checkpoint, drivers were scanned and supplied with information regarding drinking and driving.
According to a press release provided by Sgt. Christopher Bentch, the vicinity is “known for alcohol-related crashes or DUI arrests.” The Kansas City Police Department South Patrol reported that, of the 690 vehicle stops on Sept. 11, 15 resulted in arrests for DUI.
Regarding other citations/violations, the department reported the following totals: driving while suspended or revoked, three; hazardous moving violations, four; other violations, four; no operator’s license, three; driving without insurance, four; narcotics violations, two; firearms violations, one.
In addition, there was one hit-and-run incident. There also were two vehicles that avoided or attempted to avoid the checkpoint.
