La precandidata demócrata a la presidencia de los Estados Unidos Hilary Clinton utilizó su cuenta de correo privada en lugar de su e-mail oficial cuando era Secretaria de Estado durante el primer mandato del presidente Barack Obama. Aunque, en cuanto el problema salió a luz Hilary Clinton trató de minimizar la gravedad de lo sucedido, la situación afecto gravemente su campaña presidencial.
Finalmente, en una entrevista por la cadena ABC la precandidata asumió responsabilidad por su error. En la entrevista pidió disculpa, “Fue un error. Lo siento. Asumo la responsabilidad” dijo la precandidata. Clinton intentó reducir la gravedad del problema con lo siguiente “Si miro ahora en retrospectiva, y aun cuando estaba permitido, debí haber usado dos cuentas, una para emails personales y otra para emails relacionados con el trabajo.”
Clinton señaló que puede enfrentar a esta tormenta: “Puedo sobrevivir a ello, porque creo que me estoy postulando a la presidencia para hacer lo que el país necesita que se haga.” Pero esta tormenta recién empieza y su final no se ve muy cercano. El Departamento de Estado va publicando de a poco los más de 30.000 mensajes los cuales muchos de estos contienen información clasificada lo que plantea interrogantes sobre la seguridad informática del servidor usado por Clinton. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Politicians make mistakes

The current scandal involving Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should serve as a reminder that politicians make mistakes – and sometimes, those mistakes can be costly.
While serving as secretary of state during President Obama’s first term, Clinton used her private e-mail account for official business, instead of her official e-mail account, per government policy. Once the scandal came to light, Clinton tried to minimize the gravity of what had happened. But the scandal severely affected her presidential campaign.
Finally, during a televised interview on ABC, the candidate called what she had done “a mistake” and said, “I’m sorry. I take responsibility.” She attempted to reduce the severity of the problem by saying: “If I look (back) now in retrospect, and even when I was allowed, I should have used two accounts – one for personal e-mails and another for work-related e-mails.”
Clinton said she could “survive” the scandal “because I think I’m running for president to do what the country needs done.” But this scandal is just beginning. The State Department will gradually publish more than 30,000 messages, including many containing classified information that will raise questions about the security of the Internet server used by Clinton.
A costly mistake indeed.
