Los científicos están prediciendo que un objeto misterioso se estrellará contra la tierra en el mes de noviembre.
Llamado WT1190F, el objeto no ha sido identificado por los científicos. Tiene siete pies de largo y se piensa que es un proyectil desechado. Los científicos de la Agencia Especial Europea (ESA) han calculado que entrará a la atmósfera de la tierra el 13 de noviembre y caerá en el océano Indico cerca de Sri Lanka.
“El objeto es bastante pequeño – a lo mucho un par de metros de diámetro -y una fracción significante, o quizás toda, se espera que se queme completamente en la atmósfera “, fue citado Tim Flohrer del Departamento de Desecho Espacial de ESA en el sitio de ESA en Internet.
Se espera que el cielo se ponga brillante cuando el objeto entre a la atmósfera. Los científicos le han asegurado al público que el objeto no representa ningún riesgo al área donde caerá.
Si las predicciones de los científicos son verdaderas, ésta será la primera pieza hecha por el hombre que regrese a la Tierra por sí misma.
El objeto se descubrió utilizando el sistema de monitoreo NEO. El sistema le ha permitido a los expertos pronosticar su tiempo de impacto y la localidad.
Mysterious object to crash to Earth, scientists predict

Scientists are predicting a mysterious object will crash to Earth in November.
Called WT1190F, the object hasn’t been identified by scientists. It’s 7 feet long and is believed to be a discarded rocket body. Scientists from the European Space Agency (ESA) have calculated that it’ll enter the Earth’s atmosphere on Nov. 13 and land in the Indian Ocean near Sri Lanka.
“The object is quite small – at most a couple of meters in diameter – and a significant fraction, if not all of it, can be expected to completely burn up in the atmosphere,” Tim Flohrer of the ESA’s Space Debris Office was quoted recently on ESA’s Web site as saying.
It’s expected the sky will become bright when the object enters the atmosphere. Scientists have assured the public that the object doesn’t represent any risk to the area where it’ll land.
If the scientists’ predictions are true, this will be the first man-made piece to return to Earth on its own.
The object was discovered by using the NEO monitoring system. The system has allowed experts to predict its impact time and location.
