Hola Amigos. Soy la abogada Jessica Piedra. Después de trabajar en asuntos de inmigración durante 15 años, he empezado mi propio bufete legal, Law Office of Jessica Piedra LLC. Yo entiendo la lucha. Nos tomó tres años en conseguir el estatus legal para mi esposo. Cuando estábamos recién casados no teníamos mucha esperanza en lograr esa meta.
Afortunadamente la ley cambió y empezamos nuestro camino. Pero siempre andábamos con el miedo que él podía ser deportado en cualquier momento. Para poder terminar el proceso él tuvo que regresar a México. Yo estaba estudiando en escuela de derecho cuando se tuvo que ir y pensé que regresará en como cuatro meses.
Me quedé aquí en Kansas City con nuestros hijos con esperanzas, pero cuatro meses pasaron y no regresó. Habíamos perdido la esperanza que él regresaría. Por fin llegó, después de un año. Yo quiero ayudar otras familias como la mía porque yo entiendo lo que están sintiendo.

Hello friends, I am attorney Jessica Piedra. After working in immigration law for fifteen years, I have now launched my own law firm, Law Office of Jessica Piedra, LLC. I specialize in immigration law and assist immigrant families by offering excellent legal services at affordable prices. We are located in the heart of the Hispanic community in the Westside of Kansas City, Missouri.
I am very passionate about the work I do and have empathy for my clients because I too have been through the immigration process with my own family. I understand the struggles. It took us three years to finally get a legal status for my husband. When we were first married, we had very little hope of ever achieving that goal. Fortunately, the law shifted and we started our journey but we always worried he would be taken from us. In order to finish the process, he had to return to Mexico. I was in the middle of law school when he left and we thought he’d be gone about 4 months. I stayed behind with our two children and four months came and went. My children and I had lost hope he would ever come back. He finally returned to us almost a full year later. I want to help other families through this difficult process as I understand what they are facing.
