In Partnership with Reyes Media, Dos Mundos Bilingual News Paper, Westside CAN Center, Custom Foods Inc., the Sister of St Francis-Warehouse project, Price Chopper –Roeland Park-, Sun Fresh -18th street-, Woodland Volunteers and the people of Kansas City, Woodland was able to collect supplies that includes tents, wheel chairs, tools, crutches, walkers, cans, soap, first aid kits, gloves, flash light, batteries, razors, diapers, and others.
Kansas City families came to the drop site to show the support to the families affected in Mexico City and Oaxaca.
“It is amazing the response of the people of Kansas that respond to the call of Reyes Media! Hundreds of families came to make their in-kind donations that will be send it to Mexico City on October 5th” said Jorge Coromac Director. “This is just the first step… we are planning to send on October 22nd a team of volunteers to Mexico City to help with the distribution of the items, to provide medical checkups and to learn more about the recovering process and future projects”, said Coromac.
Woodland is working with local leader in Mexico, teachers and the Chapultepec Rotary Club who will be receiving the donation and will coordinate the distribution.
“We are happy to work with Woodland in this project because they have the capacity to engage local volunteer here in KC and in Mexico City and the generosity to help the neighbors affected for terrible earthquakes” said Diana Reyes, General Manager of Reyes Media.

Kansas City está enviando ayuda humanitaria a las víctimas de los terremotos en México
En colaboración con Reyes Media, el periódico bilingüe Dos Mundos, el Westside CAN Center, Custom Foods Inc., el programa de almacenamiento de las Hermanas de San Francisco, Price Chopper – en Roeland Park-, Sun Fresh – de la calle 18-, voluntarios de Woodland y las personas de Kansas City, Woodland fue capaz de recolectar suministros como casas de campaña, sillas de ruedas, herramientas, muletas, andaderas, latas, jabón, botiquines de primeros auxilios, guantes, linternas, baterías, maquinas de afeitar, pañales y otras cosas.
Las familias de Kansas City llegaron al centro de acopio para mostrar su apoyo a las familias afectadas en la ciudad de México y Oaxaca.
“¡Es increíble la respuesta de la gente de Kansas que acudió al llamado de Reyes Media! Cientos de familias vinieron a hacer sus donaciones en especie que fueron enviadas a la Ciudad de México el 5 de octubre”, indicó el director Jorge Coromac. “Este es sólo el primer paso… estamos planeando enviar el 22 de octubre un equipo de voluntarios a la Ciudad de México para ayudar con la distribución de los artículos, para realizar chequeos médicos y aprender más sobre el proceso de reconstrucción y los futuros proyectos”, indicó Coromac.
Woodland está trabajando con un líder en México, los maestros y el Club Rotario de Chapultepec que recibirán las donaciones y coordinarán su distribución.
“Estamos felices de trabajar con Woodland en este proyecto porque tienen la capacidad de involucrar a voluntarios locales aquí en KC y en la Ciudad de México y la generosidad para ayudar a nuestros vecinos afectados por los terribles terremotos”, indicó Diana Reyes, Gerente General de Reyes Media.
