Queretaro.- The measure was announced by the Mayor of Queretaro, Marcos Aguilar Vega, in the framework of the World Environment Day.
To achieve banning plastic bags, 4 recyclable bags will be delivered to the residents of each home, where there will also be information on climate change and how to combat it.
He said once this policy is implemented, whoever uses plastic bags will receive exemplary sanctions. He indicated that it will be required a regulatory reform, the development of recyclable paper bags and applying the regulations.

There are currently 90,000 businesses that use plastic bags daily and the seven large brands of convenience stores that have 465 stores.
The goal is that by December of this year, no department store will provide plastic bags. “As a municipality, we have to be an example in environmental matters,” he said.
He also announced that they are analyzing to convert the vacant urban land into tree farms, as a way to convert vacant spaces into an area that generates wealth for the residents of the city and contributes to reducing climate change.
Querétaro la primera ciudad en prohibir las bolsas de plástico
Querétaro.- La medida fue anunciada por el presidente municipal de Querétaro, Marcos Aguilar Vega, en el marco del Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente.
Para lograr prohibir las bolsas de plástico, se entregarán 4 bolsas reciclables a los habitantes de cada casa-habitación, en donde también habrá información sobre el cambio climático y cómo combatirlo.
Una vez implementada esta política, dijo, quien utilice bolsas de plástico recibirá sanciones ejemplares. Indicó que se requiere de una reforma reglamentaria, la elaboración de las bolsas de papel reciclable y la entrada en vigor de la normatividad.

Actualmente son 90 mil negocios los que utilizan bolsas de plástico diariamente y las siete tiendas grandes de conveniencia que tienen 465 establecimientos.
El objetivo es que para diciembre de este año, ninguna tienda departamental otorgue bolsas de plástico, “como municipio, tenemos que ser ejemplo en materia medio ambiental”, indicó.
Anunció también que se analiza convertir a los predios urbanos baldíos en granjas de árboles, para que los espacios ociosos se puedan convertir en un área que genere riqueza para los habitantes de la ciudad y contribuya para disminuir el cambio climático.
