Westside Christmas Party brings together more than 100 families

Around 103 families participated in the Annual Westside Christmas Party held at the Tony Aguirre Community Center on Dec. 7.
Children and parents enjoyed activities such as photos with Santa, holiday face painting, family craft activities, and decorating stockings.
Jorge Coromac, Westside Community Action Network executive director, said the event is a collaborative effort.
“This annual event is for the Westside neighbors and it’s possible thanks to Tony Aguirre Community Center, Up Up Always balloon artist, KCMO Parks and Rec, Jackson County-Outside Agency, the City of Kansas City, KCPD officers Villalobos and Salzman, Arvest Bank, Woodland Charity, Irene Library and the help of (dozens of) volunteers,” he wrote in an email.
Coromac also said 367 kids received toy presents at the event.

Fiesta de navidad del Westside reúne a más de 100 familias

Alrededor de 103 familias participaron en la fiesta anual de Navidad Westside celebrada en el Centro Comunitario Tony Aguirre el 7 de diciembre.
Los niños y los padres disfrutaron de actividades como fotos con Papá Noel, pintura de caras navideñas, actividades de manualidades familiares y medias de decoración.
Jorge Coromac, director ejecutivo de Westside Community Action Network, dijo que el evento es un esfuerzo de colaboración.
“Este evento anual es para los vecinos de Westside y es posible gracias al Centro Comunitario Tony Aguirre, el artista de globos Up Up Always, KCMO Parks and Rec, Jackson County-Outside Agencia, la ciudad de Kansas City, los oficiales de KCPD Villalobos y Salzman, Arvest Bank , Woodland Charity, Irene Library y la ayuda de docenas de voluntarios”, escribió en un correo electrónico.
Coromac también dijo que 367 niños recibieron regalos de juguetes en el evento.
