On Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., University Health (formerly Truman Medical Center) partnered with Tony Aguirre CC and Westside CAN center to provide Covid-19 Pfizer booster vaccine to seniors of the Westside.
The vaccination day focused on making the 1st and 2nd doses to anyone 12 years and older and the Pfizer booster vaccine for senior 65 years/up and healthcare/school staff with proof of first vaccine. Individuals can receive the booster six months after the second dose.
“We are so grateful with Tony Aguirre Community Center that continues supporting these clinic days in the Westside and also grateful with Westside Neighborhood Association, Westside North Association, Irene Ruiz Library and KCPD officers Salzman and Villalobos, the City of KCMO and Jackson County Outside Agencies that helped us to reach the community and to the senior that six months ago received the Pfizer vaccine,” commented Jorge Coromac, director of the Westside CAN Center.
“University Health had been a great partner thru all this time with education, testing, vaccines and now offering the booster vaccines for the seniors and continues making accessible 1st and/or 2nd Pfizer vaccines. It is imperative that each neighbor proactively participates in these vaccination campaigns for the wellbeing of each one, their families and their community,” concluded Coromac.
Participants arrived as early as 8:45 am and they expressed deepest gratitude to all organizations that coordinated this vaccination day in the heart of the Westside.

El miércoles 20 de octubre de 9 am a 12 del mediodía, University Health (anteriormente Truman Medical Center) se asoció con el Centro Comunitario Tony Aguirrey el Westside CAN Center para proporcionar la vacuna de refuerzo contra el Covid-19 de Pfizer a las personas mayores del Westside.
El día de vacunación se centró en hacer la 1ª y 2ª dosis para cualquier persona de 12 años o más y la vacuna de refuerzo de Pfizer para personas mayores de 65 años y personal de salud o escolar con prueba de la primera vacuna. Las personas pueden recibir el refuerzo seis meses después de la segunda dosis.
“Estamos muy agradecidos con Tony Aguirre Community Center que continúa apoyando estos días de clínicas en Westside y también agradecidos con Westside Neighborhood Association, Westside North Association, Irene Ruiz Library y los oficiales de KCPD Salzman y Villalobos, la ciudad de KCMO y las agencias externas del condado de Jackson eso nos ayudó a llegar a la comunidad y al adulto mayor que hace seis meses recibió la vacuna Pfizer”, comentó Jorge Coromac, director del Westside CAN Center.
“University Health ha sido un gran socio durante todo este tiempo con educación, pruebas, vacunas y ahora ofrece las vacunas de refuerzo para las personas mayores y continúa haciendo accesibles las primeras y/o segundas vacunas de Pfizer. Es imperativo que cada vecino participe de manera proactiva en estas campañas de vacunación por el bienestar de cada uno, su familia y su comunidad”, concluyó Coromac.
Los participantes llegaron a las 8:45 am y expresaron su más profundo agradecimiento a todas las organizaciones que coordinaron este día de vacunación en el corazón del Westside.
