The Westside CAN Center will be the highlighted organization at the Kansas City Royals vs. Houston Astros game on Sept. 15 in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15).
Labeled as Viva Los Reales, the game is slated to get underway at 7:10 p.m. at Kauffman Stadium. For Jorge Coromac, center director, it’s an honor.
“It’s an opportunity to continue serving the community, and to be in a partnership with the Kansas City Royals is a great opportunity,” Coromac said.
For the occasion, the Royals have established a link that Coromac, through the center, is promoting. Through it, baseball fans can get discounted tickets that start at $15 each.
Fans also can purchase a special theme ticket that comes with a Royals-themed Hispanic Heritage Month hat. The center will receive 20 percent of the tickets sold through that link. That money will help “continue implementing our programs here in the Westside,” Coromac said.
For families that might not have the means for the whole family to attend the ballgame, the center has asked for those who can to sponsor them. So far, Coromac said 60 people will benefit through this sponsorship.

Coromac asks those attending to bring a flag, a T-shirt, or hat or “anything from their home country that commemorates the beauty of the Hispanic community,” he said.
To start the celebration, the center will offer free pregame hot dogs and snacks. At 5 p.m. in the stadium’s parking lot, Coromac and others will hand out the free food on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“This is just to celebrate together this wonderful opportunity and embrace the amazing work that the Hispanic community is doing for the Kansas City metro area,” he said.

Westside CAN estará presente en el juego de los Royals el 15 de septiembre
El Centro Westside CAN será la organización destacada en el juego Kansas City Royals vs. Houston Astros el 15 de septiembre en honor al Mes de la Herencia Hispana (del 15 de septiembre al 15 de octubre).

Los fanáticos también pueden comprar un boleto temático especial que viene con una gorra de los Royals con el tema del Mes de la Herencia Hispana. El centro recibirá el 20 por ciento de las entradas vendidas a través de ese enlace. Ese dinero ayudará a “continuar implementando nuestros programas aquí en el lado oeste”, dijo Coromac.
Para las familias que quizás no tengan los medios para que toda la familia asista al juego de béisbol, el centro ha pedido que aquellos que puedan los patrocinen. Hasta el momento, Coromac dijo que 60 personas se beneficiarán con este patrocinio.
