Toyota Hendrick, RMG deliver supplies donation to school

By Angie Baldelomar

On Aug. 28, representatives of Toyota Hendrick and Reyes Media Group delivered the school supplies they had gathered through the Fill-A-Tundra drive to Guadalupe Centers Elementary School in Kansas City, Missouri.
For three weeks, both companies encouraged the community to donate school supplies to their annual Back-to-School campaign. This year, 100-plus items were collected, ranging from sidewalk chalk to notebooks and soccer balls.
April Soberon, school principal, said it is “wonderful” to see the donations come from the community. The donations will greatly help families and teachers at the school, she said.
“With the support of the community donations, if a family isn’t able to provide every item from their school supply list, they can rely on the school to help out,” Soberon stated in an email. “The classroom teachers will have supplies on hand to provide to students who don’t have everything on day one – or to restock when supplies run out. This helps our hard-working teachers, who already purchase many things out of their own pockets, have one less thing to worry about.”
