Cuando César Ayala llegó a la zona de Kansas City desde Oklahoma, vio la oportunidad de abrir un nuevo tipo de restaurante.
Recientemente, aprovechó esa oportunidad y Ayala abrió Fonda Mexicana a principios de febrero en Kansas City, Kansas.
Fonda Mexicana está especializada en guisos, pero la especialidad de la casa es el pollo a asado. Las personas también pueden disfrutar de las gorditas y los tacos, dijo Ayala.
“La gente ha estado muy feliz con el servicio que les hemos dado”, dijo. “La gente vio algo diferente …. No hay lujos ni grandes detalles, pero les trajimos un poco de México (aquí) – y lo hicimos especial “.
La idea del restaurante surgió cuando Ayala estaba cocinando y vendiendo platos típicos mexicanos para trabajadores de construcción. Según Ayala, Kansas City tenía varios restaurantes de comida mexicana, pero la mayoría de ellos eran combinaciones de carnicería-y-restaurante. Vio la necesidad de iniciar un restaurante donde la gente pueda reunirse y comer en un tipo de ambiente diferente.
“La idea comenzó hace algún tiempo”, dijo. “Le dije a mi esposa:” Nosotros … necesitamos algo donde la gente pueda venir y sentirse a gusto, donde puedan pasar algún tiempo con la familia. “Y esa era la idea … (detrás) de Fonda Mexicana – ( un lugar) que también se especializa en alimentos naturales y todo es 100 por ciento mexicano “.

Area resident brings a taste of Mexico to KCK

When Cesar Ayala arrived in the Kansas City area from Oklahoma, he saw the opportunity to open a new kind of restaurant.
Recently, he seized his opportunity.
Ayala opened Fonda Mexicana in early February in Kansas City, Kan. Fonda Mexicana specializes in stews, but the house specialty is the grilled chicken (pollo asado in Spanish). People also enjoy the gorditas and the tacos, Ayala said.
“People have been very happy with the service we have given them,” he said. “People saw something different…. No luxuries or fancy details, but we brought a bit of Mexico (here) – and we made it special.”
The idea for the restaurant emerged when Ayala was cooking and selling typical Mexican dishes to construction workers. According to Ayala, Kansas City had various Mexican restaurants, but most of them were butchery-and-restaurant combinations. He saw the need to start a restaurant where people could come together and eat in a different type of environment.
“The idea began some time ago,” he said. “I told my wife, ‘We … (need) something where people (can) come and feel at ease, where they are able to spend some time with the family.’ And that was the idea … (behind) Fonda Mexicana – (a place) that also specializes in natural food and everything (that’s) 100 percent Mexican.”
