After being in Independence, Mo., for many years, Giselle’s Bridal & Event Decor has officially relocated.
Giselle’s held a grand opening on Tuesday (June 5) to mark its relocation from Independence to Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kan. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a fashion show staged by Claudette Fantastica Costura Mexicana and a presentation by local fashion designer Roger Figueroa.
“The opening has been a project that we’ve been having in mind for some time,” said Gisela Buenrostro, co-founder of Giselle’s. “We are looking to expand our service to the Kansas community, but we also hope that this will help other Latin businesses to do the same and become part of the mall, too.”
The family business started in 2007 as La Fiesta de Tus Suenos (Sueños in Spanish) Boutique. In 2010, it became Giselle’s. Founded by the Martinez and Buenrostro families, Giselle’s offers bilingual services to people looking for quinceanera (quinceañera in Spanish), prom, formal wear and flower girl dresses.
“It’s about witnessing all these people having an amazing time,” Buenrostro stated. “They are going to live a special moment that they will keep in their memory for the rest of their lives.”
It’s the job of Giselle’s personnel to help customers find the clothes that will enhance those special moments, Buenrostro suggested.
“The way you look … (is) a reflection of the special moment that you are celebrating,” she said. “We are happy to advise them on how to look amazing and make them feel … (like) the queen of the party.”
To help its customers feel amazing, the fashion store works with local designers and with designers from Mexico, New York, Florida and Texas. Some of those designers work on haute couture. Others specialize in designing quinceanera dresses.
According to the Mexican-American entrepreneur, the grand opening at Oak Park Mall is a big representation of what can be achieved when people stay united and work as a family. For her, the key to store’s success has been the involvement of the Martinez and Buenrostro families in the business. She plans to build on that success at the mall.
“Our goals are to keep serving the (people of the) community by offering them the most glamorous and exclusive items,” Buenrostro said. “We want you to find … (in) your own city the outfit that you are looking for.”

Después de estar en Independence, Missouri, durante muchos años, Giselle’s Bridal & Event Decor se ha mudado oficialmente.
Giselle celebró su gran apertura el martes (5 de junio) para conmemorar su traslado desde Independence al Oak Park Mall en Overland Park, Kan. El evento incluyó una ceremonia de corte de cinta, un desfile de moda organizado por Claudette Fantástica Costura Mexicana y una presentación del diseñador de moda local Roger Figueroa.
“La apertura ha sido un proyecto que hemos tenido en mente durante algún tiempo”, dijo Gisela Buenrostro, cofundadora de Giselle’s. “Estamos buscando expandir nuestro servicio a la comunidad de Kansas, pero también esperamos que esto ayude a otras empresas latinas a hacer lo mismo y a también formar parte del centro comercial”.
El negocio familiar comenzó en el 2007 como la Boutique La Fiesta de Tus Sueños. En 2010, se convirtió en Giselle’s. Fundada por las familias Martinez y Buenrostro, Giselle’s ofrece servicios bilingües a personas que buscan vestidos de quinceañera, graduación, ropa formal y de niña de las flores.
“Se trata de presenciar a todas estas personas que pasarán un momento increíble”, afirmó Buenrostro. “Van a vivir un momento especial que mantendrán en la memoria por el resto de sus vidas”.
Es el trabajo del personal de Giselle ayudar a los clientes a encontrar la ropa que mejore esos momentos especiales, sugirió Buenrostro.
“La forma en que te ves es un reflejo del momento especial que estás celebrando”, dijo. “Estamos felices de aconsejarles sobre cómo lucir increíbles y hacerlas sentir como la reina de la fiesta”.
Para ayudar a sus clientes a sentirse increíbles, la tienda de moda trabaja con diseñadores locales y de México, Nueva York, Florida y Texas. Algunos de esos diseñadores trabajan en la alta costura y otros se especializan en el diseño de vestidos de quinceañera.
Según la empresaria mexicano-estadounidense, la gran inauguración en Oak Park Mall es una gran representación de lo que se puede lograr cuando las personas permanecen unidas y trabajan en familia. Para ella, la clave del éxito de la tienda ha sido la participación de las familias Martinez y Buenrostro en el negocio y planea llevar ese éxito al centro comercial.
“Nuestros objetivos son seguir sirviendo a la comunidad ofreciéndoles los artículos más glamorosos y exclusivos”, dijo Buenrostro. “Queremos que encuentres en tu propia ciudad el atuendo que estás buscando”.
