It has several lakes and natural and artificial lakes, a castle called Belvedere founded in 1865, plus more than 250,000 trees and in terms of wildlife, nearly 300 species of animals have been identified. If you are a Birdwatcher, you will fall in love with this site as more than 280 species of birds have been sighted. Undoubtedly a place to rest and enjoy the beauty of nature without leaving the city and also for free.
Museum of Natural History, undoubtedly one of the most popular and complete museums of its kind in all United States, was founded almost 150 years ago and has a collection of more than 35 million objects, which is why it is considered the most extensive of the world. Bienvenidos turistas, en esta edición nos toca hablar de la segunda ciudad más poblada del continente americano y que además es la más poblada de nuestro país, creo que con esa pista ya sabrás de qué ciudad nos referimos, por supuesto de Nueva York. Fundada en 1626 por holandeses, quienes compraron la isla de Manhattan a la tribu indígena Lenape, según cuenta la leyenda por un costo aproximado a los $25 dólares y que inicialmente fue llamada Nueva Ámsterdam.
Además de ser la ciudad más poblada del país al parecer también es la que más ha enamorado por lo menos a los productores de películas, ya que es la ciudad en el mundo con más producciones cinematrográficas con alrededor de 1,800 superando con casi 500 películas a su más cercano perseguidor Londres. Y cómo no enamorarse de esta ciudad si cuenta con gran cantidad de enormes rascacielos, algunos de los museos más importantes, hermosos parques, gran cantidad de tiendas de ropa, enorme diversidad cultural y para los pequeñines gran cantidad de jugueterías enormes y bastas.
Los vuelos redondos a Nueva York partiendo de Kansas rondan los $250, pero buscando con detenimiento y tiempo podrás encontrar vuelos en menos de $150. Si hablamos de hospedaje debemos considerar que Nueva York está considerada como la segunda ciudad más cara en este aspecto en el mundo, por lo que sus hoteles tienen un costo promedio de $120 por noche, aunque podrás encontrar opciones bastante buenas en airbnb de renta de habitaciones por unos $65. En cuanto a comida sin duda alguna es la ciudad con más diversidad de comida, podrás encontrar restaurantes de todas las nacionalidades que te imagines, además los puestos callejeros además de ser sumamente económicos ofrecen una comida deliciosa, podrás encontrar comidas completas desde $10.
Ahora que ya sabes un poquito más de lo que podrías esperar en tu viaje, te platico de algunos de los lugares que definitivamente no te puedes perder en tu visita por la ciudad:
Estatua de la libertad, es sin duda uno de los monumentos más famosos no sólo del país, sino que de todo el mundo, se encuentra en la isla de la Libertad al sur de la isla de Manhattan, muy cerca de la isla Ellis. La estatua fue un regalo de los franceses en 1866 para conmemorar el centanerio de la Declaración de Independencia de los Estados Unidos y un símbolo de amistad entre ambas naciones. Es un símbolo de lo que los Estado Unidos intentan representar, la libertad y emancipación del pueblo. Desde 1984 es declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Sin duda debes tener una foto del recuerdo de este lugar. Para llegar ahí deberás tomar un ferry que tiene un costo de $19.

Las salas más recomendadas son la de biodiversidad que cuenta con cientos de animales disecados, la de minerales y meteoritos que han impactado en la tierra, la de dinosaurios que cuenta con fósiles y reproducciones en tamaño natural, y en donde se encuentra la ballena azul de 29 metros. Es sin duda un lugar para emocionarse y aprender bastante, una visita que disfrutarán sin duda alguna adultos y niños, el costo de entrada es de $23.
Times Square, es la plaza más importante de la ciudad, sin duda alguna el corazón de la misma, cuenta con miles de luces y enormes carteles que lo han convertido en la zona más conocida de Nueva York. Sin duda alguna el mejor lugar para pasear a pie y disfrutar de sus restaurantes, bares, tiendas, jugueterías y mucho más.
La Quinta Avenida, es sin duda la avenida más importante de Manhattan y que cruza de norte a sur la ciudad, las tiendas más exclusivas las podrás encontrar en esta calle, además en su recorrido podrás aprovechar para visitar el Empire State, el edificio más alto del mundo de 1931 a 1972.
Por último te recomiendo compres una tarjeta New York Pass, la cual incluye entradas a los museos más importantes, el ferry a la Estatua de la Libertad, paseos en autobuses turísticos y mucho más los costos van desde $124 por un día y hasta $319 por 10 días. Si tu estadía será larga sin duda alguna te recomiendo esta opción para ahorrarte varios cientos de dólares.
