A public meeting of the Kansas City BrownfieldsCommission will be held 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at City Hall, 414 E. 12th Street, 4th Floor Training Room, Kansas City, MO. The Commission will meet to consider endorsement of an application from Cheyenne 940, LLC for remediation tax creditsfrom the Missouri Brownfields RedevelopmentProgram, to remediate property located at 1215 W. 12th Street, Kansas City, MO for commercial/industrial reuse. The Commission will also reviewthe Kansas City RLF Program Guidelines. Updateswill be provided on brownfield grants, RLF-funded projects, and new federal brownfields legislation.
Brownfields are idle or underused properties whose reuse is complicated by real or perceived contamination. The Brownfields Commission is a Mayor-appointed body created by City ordinance to help redevelop brownfield properties. The Kansas City RLF, as advised by the BrownfieldsCommission, uses grants from the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide loans and subgrants to clean up brownfields.
Community residents, neighborhoodorganizations, businesses, professionals, non- profits, and government representatives are allencouraged to attend, learn and share.
