Free meals for children and adults Part 1

To help ease the burden the COVID-19 pandemic is putting on families across the country, many organizations are offering free meals for children and adults. In the Kansas City metro area, schools are also joining in on this effort.
Some of these organizations and schools providing free meals are:

Kansas
Kansas City, KS Public Schools (KCKPS): Offer Curbside Meal Pickup Service to KCKPS students 18 and younger. Parents can pick up meals without a child in the car, only if they call and notify a KCKPS representative of the time and location you plan to pick up your meal. Adults are asked to place their order at least the day before pickup calling 913-279-2191. If they don’t call ahead, adults will need to have their children present. Currently meals are available for pick-up between the hours of 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the following six locations:
-Arrowhead Middle School- 1715 N. 82nd Street
-Wyandotte High School- 2501 Minnesota Avenue
-Schlagle High School – 2214 N 59th Street
-JC Harmon- 2400 Steele Road
-Rosedale Middle School – 3600 Springfield Street
-Banneker Elementary School – 2026 N. 4th Street

Blue Valley School District Grab & Go Breakfast and Lunch: offers free grab-and-go breakfast and lunch on weekdays from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at four locations across the district. Food Services services staff will distribute meals from kitchen dock entrances and deliver straight to your car—no need to get out. Available to children 1-18. Children must be present at the time of pickup. The locations are:
-Blue Valley Academy, 7500 W. 149th Terrace
-Overland Trail Middle School, 6201 W. 133rd Street
-Oxford Middle School, 12500 Switzer
-Indian Valley Elementary School, 11600 Knox

Olathe Public School: Beginning on Monday, April 13, the food distribution site will only be open on Mondays and Wednesdays. Two breakfasts and two lunches will be distributed to each child on Mondays and three breakfasts and three lunches will be distributed to each child on Wednesdays. These meal packs will be provided for students 18 and under from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the following sites:
-Central, 305 E. Cedar Street
-Fairview, 600 N. Marion
-Havencroft, 1700 E. Sheridan Street
-Indian Creek, 15800 Indian Creek Parkway
-Northview, 900 N. Woodland Road
-Ridgeview, 1201 E. Elm Street
-Rolling Ridge, 1500 W. Elm Terrace
-Washington, 1202 N. Ridgeview Road
-Westview, 500 S. Troost Street
Children must be present to pick up a meal.

Children’s Mercy: Free lunch is available to all children 1 to 18 years-old Monday- Friday 12:00PM- 3:00PM. In Kansas, the fresh sack lunch is available at Children’s Mercy West Clinic (4313 State Ave, Kansas City, KS 66102) from 11:30 am-1:30 pm.
Metro Lutheran Ministries: Pre-packed food boxes. No ID necessary, no zip code restrictions. Need to provide name of HOH and number of household members. Boxes are provided only once per calendar month. Monday-Friday 8: 30AM- 11:00AM at 722 Reynolds Ave, Kansas City, KS 66101.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City: They are providing meals to youth ages 5-18. Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. for breakfast and 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for lunch. In the Kansas side of the metro area, they have two locations:
-Breidenthal Unit – 1240 Troup Ave., Kansas City, KS 66104.
-Olathe Unit – 520 S. Harrison, Olathe, KS 66061
Cross-Lines Community Outreach: Pantry only Monday-Thursday from 9AM-2PM at 736 Shawnee Avenue, KCK 66105.


Comidas gratuitas para niños y adultos Parte 1
